The Project (2015-Sept 2020)

If it ever did end up on nine, I could see it at 9.30 or 10.00pm.
[/quote] It is the only time I can think of available on Nine (wouldn’t surprise me if Karl got involved somehow). TBH, I wouldn’t mind it on Nine.

What angels they are

It would be a disaster for ten to lose this show. I take the rumours with a grain of salt but still. The show is on brand for them and it really is the closest thing resembling a decent news/current affairs program on their network.

Overall isn’t the show just a panel show? Plenty of those around. It really isn’t a distinct format. Surely it can be replicated in a similar way without being a breach of copyright.

Well put it this way, if The Project did move to Channel 9, there would be less viewer complaints from regional areas as the programme would be moving back to channel 5 :stuck_out_tongue:

Which you can get around by simply googling the headline.

I can’t see this moving to Nine.

Are Carrie and Waleed contracted to the network or the show?

Grain of salt as cmo rightly said. I’ll believe when I see it regarding this “rumour”.

I don’t recall Carrie or Waleed popping up on any other Network Ten productions. Carrie was on Rove Live before The 7pm Project launch, so I think one could assume she belongs to Roving Productions.

That being said, I’d like to think there’s an element of truth to these rumours and Nine is looking for Roving Productions to create another show, rather than looking to move The Project. Idk what Roving even produces anymore except for the show.

Most big name hosts are contracted to the network, rather than the show or production company.

Just The Project at present.

This would be a disaster for ten. But I couldnt see it occuring. If it did it would be a disaster for Nine as I couldnt see it being more successful.

If Nine picked up the rights to The Project, they’d probably get Nine personalities like Ben Fordham or Karl Stefanovic to host it along with having someone like Amelia Adams as the newsreader. I don’t think too many of the show’s current loyal viewers (especially Waleed/Carrie fans) would be impressed by that!

What other newstyle entertainment shows do they have?

Studio 10 could (sort of) be classed as a news-style entertainment program on Ten, right?

But aside from that, none. As others have said, it would be an absolute tragedy if Ten lost The Project. As much as I don’t really watch the show, I do hope the network can keep it!

It would be a disaster for ten but I think it would be more of a disaster for Roving Enterprises. The Project probably has a 10+ year lifespan left on Ten (at least). On Nine it might only last 1-3 years. I think Nine would want this to air 5:00-6:00.

Why would Nine pay for The Project when they can just create their own completely original format “The News Desk”?
