I’m enjoying the “intersection of American and Australian culture” seen on the show so far though I did wonder in the last episode if subtitles would be required for American some of the dialogue and also how long the joke can last

NCIS: Sydney Sails Its Way To Paramount+’s Most-Watched Australian Series.

Paramount+ today announced that its Australian original series, and first-ever international series from the global NCIS franchise outside of the US, NCIS: Sydney, is officially the most-watched local series since the launch of Paramount+ in Australia.

The first two episodes of the eight-part series are available to stream now, with new episodes dropping every Friday.

In the U.S., the premiere episode is approaching 10 million viewers across CBS and Paramount+, while setting milestones as the #1 new show of the television season and the #1 most-streamed CBS Network series premiere ever on Paramount+* (based on 3-day streaming AMA on Paramount+ O&O).

  • On Tuesday, 14 November, the premiere episode was the #1 show of the night in viewers (5.6m L+SD) and soared to 7.25 million viewers in most current data.

  • CBS re-aired the premiere on Saturday, 18 November, bringing the cumulative viewership of the first episode to 9.65 million viewers and growing. (L+5 day viewership on CBS and 6-day streaming on Paramount+).

In Canada, airing on Global, NCIS: Sydney is the #1 scripted series in the country this season, and #3 series overall.** (In English-speaking Canada)

Beverley McGarvey, EVP, Chief Content Officer and Head of Paramount+ Australia said: “We are absolutely delighted that audiences locally and internationally have embraced NCIS: Sydney with its stellar cast and compelling storytelling. We are so appreciative of the opportunity to utilise the world class NCIS brand to tell quintessentially Australian stories and it has been so productive to work closely with our colleagues at CBS and Paramount+.”

Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment, said: “These viewer numbers for NCIS: Sydney demonstrate the global strength and popularity of the NCIS franchise, and highlights how strong characters and story telling continues to resonate with the CBS audience.”

Filmed against the spectacular backdrop of one of the world’s most breathtaking harbour cities, the brilliant and eclectic team of U.S. NCIS Agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are grafted into a multi-national taskforce, to keep naval crimes in check, as international tensions rise in the Indo-Pacific.

The NCIS: Sydney team is led by NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey played by Olivia Swann (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The River Wild) and her 2IC AFP counterpart, Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey played by Todd Lasance (Without Remorse, Spartacus: War of the Damned). They are joined by Sean Sagar (The Covenant, Mea Culpa) as NCIS Special Agent, DeShawn Jackson; Tuuli Narkle (Mystery Road: Origin, Bad Behaviour) as AFP Liaison Officer, Constable Evie Cooper; Mavournee Hazel (Shantaram, Halifax: Retribution) as AFP Forensic Scientist, Bluebird ‘Blue’ Gleeson and William McInnes (The Newsreader, Total Control) as AFP Forensic Pathologist, Dr Roy Penrose.

Great but that is vauge and empty

How many viewers how many streams how many minutes and Context to other P+ AU originals?

Yeah they’re boasting about international figures and not specifying their own.
It’s going to be another Neighbours, where interest in other countries keep the show afloat.

With CBS canceling SWAT, NCIS LA & Blue Bloods, I think a relatively cheap show for them like NCIS Sydney would be something they might want to keep so I can see a 2nd season happening

I don’t think that will be the case, at least not for the first few seasons, it will help though. Last King of the Cross was previously their most watched & it’s coming back for another season.

They say it’s a special preview.
I assume it’s episode one followed by a prompt to continue watching on paramount+

Sigh.:disappointed: Three days notice and over the lowest rating days for 10. This has no chance. Typical 10.

Congrats NCIS Sydney and Paramount/CBS on the ratings  But will it last? We’ve seen large launches in the past, but then plenty of crashes and burns. Hopefully it holds!

10 has chosen Monday as it hopes many viewers who have been watching Dessert Masters semi final will stay around for NCIS: Sydney. I certainly will.

I might be looking into this too much, but interesting that the 10play logo was removed from this template they use.
