Ann had to give up reading the news updates on The Morning Show when she took on the afternoon news presenting role which was vacated by Melissa Doyle, who moved to presenting Seven News Sydney on Friday and Saturday nights in the place of Chris Bath, who left Seven in mid-2015.
And I believe this was her last Television appearance. I can’t recall her ever coming back.
Fun fact though, The Naomi Show (I believe it was titled) could have been commission instead of the The Morning Show back in 2007. I remember seeing a tapping of the show that even had a studio audience. It was recorded at BCM. Very similar format to Oprah.
Was she still under contract in 2007 and 2008, as she seemed to be doing a lot for Seven still? IIRC DWTS, an ob doc series or narration, among the others mentioned and possibly more.
I think she still was on contract in 2007-2008. This would’ve been to also keep Nine from poaching her. Eddie McGuire stated (when he was CEO) he would have offered her a position at Nine. He was was amazed how Seven didn’t support her enough through the last 6 months on TT in 2006.
You either sacrifice the brand for clicks/digital revenue or you set up an outpost for it all under a new banner, but lose the ‘prestige’ of it being posted by 7News.
A familiar face, they thought he was capable, he was also available, the news story above mentioned some of his current activities - works to promote those? Who knows
I hate to keep doing this, but the format of this edition is interesting. Live music, live audience and guest hosted by Kerri-Anne. It is far less rigid and far more fun than what it is now. If only this wasn’t so ‘special’.
