The Masked Singer

Scheduling is an interesting challenge, pre recorded Big Brother supposedly saved money, but changed the program significantly…well it was one of the changes.
Britans got talent have changed their model moving forward from a finals week to weekly which you would think would increase costs??

The 2025 edition of BGT will see the show air for up to four months, as the boss of the show Simon Cowell confirmed the series would start in February instead of April.

BGT will also air every Saturday night for its new series with it previously airing on both Saturday and Sunday.

Plus, the five live semi-finals which usually take place across one week airing nightly, will now air weekly.

7 needs to swoop if they get a chance. Will fill the void created by no BB. And being prerecorded will suit them to a tee.

So they can spoil another franchise.

Heavy bro.

He’s clearly unwell and needs major help.

Not funny for me unfortunately.

American singer Anastacia is in Melbourne this week. She attended the Melbourne Cup Carnival launch yesterday and will perform at Derby Day on Saturday.

Anastacia was in the Fox FM studio this morning, chatting with Fifi, Fev and Nick. She mentioned her appearance on The Masked Singer in 2021 (winning as Vampire), and described that as an unreal experience even though she had to spend two weeks in hotel quarantine in Sydney. Brendan Fevola also reminded her of his own appearance as The Captain:

Anastacia was also a guest with Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel last week. She has a wicked sense of humour so she really had a lot of fun with them.

Osher is special guest on this week’s episode of Mumbrella one-on-one interview series. He said he was not surprised by the axing of the show and The Bachelor franchise, it was all about the dollar.

During the 8am news update on Kyle and Jackie O Show today, Kyle revealed he was paid $90,000 for dressing up as Paw Patrol character Rubble on The Masked Singer in 2021. Kyle claimed that 10 initially wanted to pay a fee of $35,000, but Kyle and his manager Bruno said no.

Strange thing to announce during a news update, for a show that has been axed? I’m wondering if his contract terms mean he can only now speak about it.

What happened was that the news presenter (forgot his name) read the first item, then Kyle interjected and discussions turned to other things. That’s where Kyle suddenly blurted out his Masked Singer fee.

The post-8am news update which normally went for 2 minutes stretched to 10 minutes as the result.

Thanks for sharing how greedy you are, Kyle. As if we didn’t know already.
