Good if so, maybe they came to an arrangement with the production company?
I think 10 had to be vague about it because it was probably leaked before they wanted it to be public knowledge, considering the hosts were all staying on and in the same timeslot with the same kinda theme but they were still figuring things out with WTFN about the format / name. These sort of situations take time to come to an agreement on.
but wasnt it going to be called something else? seems strange to axe the living room and them bring it back afer axing it
They said it had ended but the cast was coming back for another show along the same lines. It was obvious that there was something going on with the production company. Either Ten just wanted to do in house now or they weren’t happy with the costs or production lately.
These things happen. This is the problem with revealing too much at the Upfronts, especially when there is still a chance for negotiations or a last minute reprieve. Similar thing happened with Seven and Holey Moley.
“Hey guys, we’re bringing back our lifestyle show. What should we call it?”
As suspected. The drama happened because Ten wanted to produce it in-house.
Where did WTFN film it?
Ten’s studio in Pyrmont.
So they keep the name and talent but not the format?
I expect the first few episodes of Living room will be filmed without the normal Studio audience. That is not confimed just my guess
Does it really need an audience? BH and G doesn’t neither does Gardening Australia.
I guess hot or not is the only segment where an audience would be useful.
Dr.Chris’s travel reports/segments will be affected by the COVID-19 as well. Since he wont be able to do any travel at the moment. He might have to stick with doing pets for the time being
Another call out for ideas.
The show will be broadcast outside Australia for the first time, on CBS-owned digital lifestyle network Dabl.
Dabl is actually a CBS multichannel avail on FTA just like 9Life or 7TWO here
The other CBS multichannel also on FTA is Decades - a retro channel
ViacomCBS Australia & New Zealand Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President Beverly McGarvey told News Corp that The Living Room would be back in June “with the (same) talent but a more energised and more contemporary version”.
I think our feeling was, we’ve been on air for six or seven years, it’s time to give the show a bit of a refresh and make sure it can keep going for the next six or seven years.
We really wanted to inject more energy and brightness in the show to reflect the talent so we really just wanted to revamp it, restyle it. That’s what happened.
I wouldn’t mind Celebrity being filmed in the Aussie Bush tbh.
