I think we can still feel her warmth, as with Musher, on The Latest. And it definitely comes through when she has the round table panel with the two female social commentators.
Maybe a regular Sunday night (one hour) edition of The Latest could include a feature story.

Any reason as to why The Latest couldn’t air tonight (apart from the obvious fact that there was no gap in programming schedules), could they have not reworked the schedule to fit it in?
This show is so inconsistent.

It’s hard to understand 7’s “we value this show / we don’t care” flip flopping.
They bump it up to one hour on Sundays as a flagship.
Some nights it is at 9.
Some nights 11.
Some nights they don’t think it matters to air it at all.
NoT caring consistently, or caring consistently I would understand. But they seem to fall in love / out of love with the show in a bi-polar fashion. No other news bulletin (5am, Sunrise, 11am, 4pm, 6pm, 5pm weekends) gets treated like this.

It won’t air at midnight unless it is fully pre-recorded - I would suggest a budget measure to just not roster the late shifts on these occasional nights.
I’ll take this approach to having it axed any day. It is the only news program I watch regularly.
Note the change to tonight with The Latest now starting at 10:05 (ish)

And also goes for an hour, instead of the usual 30 minutes.
It does follow the “7News Spotlight: In the Blink of an Eye” special. So could be a follow up on that (plus news) like it did on Sunday night after the “7 News Outback Special”?

I’m wondering… why it’s such a big deal to have a flexible bulletin?
The programmers clearly don’t think viewers care about night time habits. It’s been over a decade since we’ve seen junctions, or strict adherence to program times…
People seem to find this bulletin when it’s on - they can promo its movements through various platforms.
None of the other news bulletins are effected by a shifting nighttime schedule either.
Seeing as 7 have been cutting costs everywhere, if they really didn’t care, it’d be easy for them to cut this from their schedule completely.
I agree that makes it much harder to establish a loyal following, but maybe there is a different strategy behind their decisions.
