Looks like The Latest is now back to its normal format (i.e. single anchor, no extended interviews, special reports etc.) given the downturn in the daily rate of new coronavirus cases this week.
But still expect some coronavirus-related news in the first block of bulletins in the coming weeks as we loom closer to the end of the four-week restriction period that PM Scott Morrison flagged on April 16.
Yes, The Latest has returned back to “the late slot” on weeknights.
It’s on tonight at 7pm, as its 30 minute version. How long will it remain on Saturday nights? I think it should stay on the night, in some capacity - either where it is now (at 7pm), or straight after the 7pm movie (at 9pm).
Saturday 25 April-
Mel hosting again tonight. Looks like they have given her the job. Who is doing the Facebook Watch bulletins at the moment?
Shaun White.
Could this be a sign that Seven are looking to replace Mark Ferguson with Michael Usher at 6:00pm in Sydney? Who knows!
I have not seen Mel on TV for a while. What exactly does she do these days? Does she have some form of permanent weekly spot on any program?
For now perhaps, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is only for the duration of her contract and then they will part ways with her.
You couldn’t pick that up from the thread you are in which is talking about Mel hosting The Latest?
Don’t think so. Assume Usher just wants a break and some time off too. And Doyle probably wants to present a little more.
Michael Usher back presenting tonight
Mel presenting tonight (Friday).
The Latest is on at 7.00 tonight. Mel hosting I presume.
Looks like The Latest is only Mon-Thu this week. No Saturday night edition at 7.00.
Monday 4 May- 10pm
Melissa Doyle is also presenting tonight.
Wednesday (06.05.2020): Melissa Doyle back in the chair tonight.
