Spanning six continents, the team showcases the best and biggest winter playground in America; the most picturesque part of the Swiss Alps; and an undiscovered, ridiculously beautiful region of Italy. We snorkel the world’s number one dive site; and visit the city that claims to hold the most world records. From the arid inhospitable desert of Arabia to the lush green rainforest of the world’s largest sand island, The Great Outdoors helps us escape our everyday lives, and plan for that next holiday adventure!

Episode 1

The Great Outdoors is skiing USA’s biggest winter playground; staying in Tasmania’s central highlands; swimming on the world’s largest sand island & visiting the peace capital of the world, Geneva.

Kimberley Busteed is the presenter for the Park City segment.

The sand island mentioned in the synopsis is K’gari off the Queensland coast.

It’s a shame they’ve decided to stick with the minimal branding. I wouldn’t even consider that typeface a logo. The show really lacks identity.. and not tapping into the nostalgia it built over many years, is a big missed opportunity.

The Great Outdoors skydives into Switzerland’s spectacular Jungfrau Region, visits Tasmania’s world heritage wilderness and gets immersed in the incredible nature and culture of South Africa.

Agree! Why do they think a lack of branding is good for the program? It looks like it’s something off Vimeo.

Weird they don’t just trot out a title card and a slight remix of just the end chords of the theme…. A shame.

Brisbane just got a promo for TGO “next” in the mid program break, 7.17pm. :joy:

Saturday 30 August season final

The Great Outdoors enjoys the Pacific Island of Palau, gets adventurous in the highest mountain range on the Arabian Peninsula & takes time out in WA.

SAS Australia’s Ant Middleton makes a guest appearance in the UAE segment. He rides a camel with James Tobin at the Noble Camp before they have dinner with other guests under the lights.
