For reference, this show was always designed for the 5:30 slot as a lead in to news.

It is just getting a primetime premiere for the first couple of episodes. However, obviously, if it sets the world on fire it could stay.

However, just to avoid the comments later, it is a 5:30 show.

Just like the state-based travel shows, but “on a budget”?

With the AFL season gone, Seven needed to fill the local content primetime gap. NRL cities had Border Security at 7pm, but also had 5.30pm (and as a filler else where), and can’t always rely on that. The Great Outdoors will stay on Saturday nights until the Big Bash starts, and then probably slowly move to the 5.30pm slot,.

As I said it will be for 2 episodes only before moving to 5.30pm… unless it somehow turns into a megahit

Worth noting that Seven do not broadcast any Saturday Big Bash games. Those games are exclusive to Foxtel.

Seven now has a sprots free space all year-round on Saturdays nights for all markets (Excluding 2 AFL matches).

Not quite - Seven have the rights to produce and broadcast the last 8 Saturday matches of the home and away season.

Whether they fill the Saturday slot with lifestyle programming such as this, or an AFL panel show to go up against the live footy on Foxtel remains to be seen.

7 has Saturday night matches after R16 in AFL & also live matches in non vic markets after R8

Also I think non vic gets delayed matches in R1-8 so an afternoon match could be replayed at night

Possibly air The Great Outdoors at 4:30pm in Brisbane, similar to when NBN TV airs news specials and moves Getaway forward or how WINTV used to move Nines 5:30 program to 4:30pm for Fishing Australian or Destinations pre the 2016 affiliate swap

This is great! Oddly through the variation used in the show was different. There was a lot less backing behind the vocals.
I remember it started out as “another day in paradise” with limited percussion behind as seen below.

I believe the one above is the 2004 - 2007 theme and then 2007 (as labelled on his actual video on youtube) is the one that you listed above with a bit of a remix and the introduction of the male vocals.
