Graham was one of the guest video quizmasters on Have You Been Paying Attention tonight. He used the occasion to announce that he would embark on his first Australian tour in March 2025. Tickets go on sale this Friday, October 11.
Did he announce that the new season kicks off in Australia on Sunday 20 October at 8:10pm?
No he did not.
Thanks for the news though. That means at this stage, each episode will be shown three weeks after the UK.
Interesting move by 10.
I know we’ve seen it in the earlier slot on Sundays when they run out of local content but I think there’s one of two things that might be behind this:
- As above, the plan is that the show will just move forward to 7pm once Dessert Masters wraps
- Or they’re keeping that slot warm for a similar type of show around 8pm next year (maybe Pangs?)
If the above, would certainly justify the effort and idea behind bringing their schedule forward by 30 mins on Sunday nights.
I notice they have tweaked the opening for the new season. The usual monologue about the week’s major news or political events in Britain is gone, instead Graham does a longer introduction for each guest before welcoming that guest to the couch.
He’s phoning it in a little these days - I suspect they’re recording more in advance maybe than they used to?
The show still films the day before on the Thursday with an occasional Wednesday taping thrown in. Final filming day this year is December 11th.
The monologue used to be way longer, I think they have been slowly cutting down their writers over the years, which is a shame.
Note: this episode will be shown on 10 on Sunday, November 17, and on Three in NZ three days earlier.

Cynthia Erivo is on the same show and I would have thought Wicked might be a bigger draw card that Nicole right now
Nicole obviously suits the local angle being an Aussie, she’s also everywhere atm - plus probably suits since she’s in Lioness (great show!) that’s airing on P+ currently.
They should’ve promoted both. It does seem like they have a narrow-minded way of promoting the show every week.
Last week it was all about the “viral moment” which in fact was about 20 seconds on screen. Would have made more sense to promote the fact he had four big name actors there: Denzel Washington, Paul Mescal, Saoirse Ronsn and Eddie Redmayne.
Which is also bizarre given it happened 3 weeks prior and was already seen and heard by anyone interested. I suppose at least they ‘fastracked’ this episode!
I only realised that 10 changed the episode order. It brought forward episode 8 (featuring Cynthia Erivo) to last night, because Wicked has just hit the cinemas. That episode only went to air in Britain last Friday night.
Episode 6 and 7 will have to wait until December.
Graham Norton is on the front cover of TV Week this week.
