Apparently the season finale will not air until after the Commonwealth Games. It’s weird that Seven was willing to show new episodes in the December non-ratings but not during Easter non-ratings. Why not just show the finale the night before the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony to give fans closure?
It is a silly decision. Holding off one episode.
The original South Korean series The Good Doctor will be available on SBS on Demand next month
ABC announced earlier this week that season 2 will premiere in the US on September 24. Here, Seven has the option of fasttracking the episode on September 25 and making it part of the AFL Grand Final week programming, which also includes the Brownlow Medal and the Twenty20 women’s cricket match between Australia and New Zealand.
That would be smart but they’ll probably delay it.
Smarter to use it in the lower rating following week.
New season trailer has been released. Given Seven’s severe slump, it should be fast-tracked to air shortly after the US Premiere on 24 September.
You beauty!
Yet they’ve still won each week Don’t mean to sound like a broken record here.
Yes true but not the primary channel and the winning margins have declined (aka slumped) significantly compared to the start of the year. They certainly aren’t in Ten’s troubled territory but the data shows their hits, timeslot wins, program performance and primary channel ranking have declined.
Yes, okay. Fair enough.
Seven needed The Good Doctor to save them last year, it’ll just be the cream on the top this year.
Hoping he can again bring them back from the dead in the second half.
Seven needs to begin airing this season straight after the US premiere. If not fast-tracked then it’s not going to fix their gaping hole.
24 Sept is the premier date in the USA so maybe 1st Oct if they continue with Monday nights
Season 2 premieres Tuesday October 2 according to an updated promo shown tonight during Seven News. I think Seven delays the premiere by one week to cover any pre-emption in the US.
Nothing like some blatant cross promotion.
THE GOOD DOCTOR
The first thing that strikes you about Freddie Highmore is his accent. It’s British, very much so. But nailing the American accent – and quirky personality – of autistic surgeon Shaun Murphy was a pushover for Freddie.
Seven’s promos now saying “Australia’s No 1 drama” instead of “Australia’s No 1 show”
Seems they’ve come to a realisation themselves it’s not going to match last year.
Why do Seven always put the Annoying Script Song Arms Open in their Promos unlike ABC America which they’re Promos are Awesome?
Awesome, how?
