And a rare gathering of the three men who wore the West Coast No.9 guernsey: Ben Cousins, Nic Naitanui, and Harley Reid.
It will be interesting to see where production is moved to next year.
Currently, there is no studio to cater for it in the new HSV7 fit out. I expect the show will be moved to South Melbourne.
I believe he did mention that they will be back in November for a couple of specials.
The Front Bar Year In Review
Thursday 21 November 8:30 PM
Join Sam Pang, Mick Molloy and Andy Maher as they share a laugh about the year that was in sport.
Great to hear!
I wonder if they’ll do Cricket specials this summer too.
There will be a cricket version again this year
The Front Bar The Cricket Edition
Thursday 28 November 8:30 PM
All sports review this week & then the cricket edition to finish the year?
Probably should of had the all sports review last week & this week be the cricket edition as it’s the day before Tests start
Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar is one of the special guests on tonight’s Cricket Edition.
A great episode tonight. Sunil Gavaskar was a great guest, and was funny. Paul Kelly was on it too. And sang two songs.
Many funny references to “The guy from Utah” who was in the audience.
Sadly, this was the final of the year.
The Front Bar is back for Opening Round
Brisbane Lions legend Simon Black guest stars
Happy hour goes up another notch in 2025, when everyone’s favourite sports show, The Front Bar, with Andy Maher, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang returns on Wednesday, 5 March at 8.30pm live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.
Doing what they do best, The Front Bar team will share a laugh each week of the AFL season and catch up with stars of yesteryear and today.
Host Mick Molloy is eager for the season to begin, “Everyone is excited for the season to start, even the umpires. They haven’t bounced a ball and I’m hearing they’ve already given Patrick Cripps nine Brownlow votes.”
Fresh off the back of the Brisbane Lions’ 2024 AFL Premiership, triple AFL Premiership player and Hall of Famer Simon Black will join The Front Bar as special guest for the Opening Round show.
With his Tigers set for a quieter year, Molloy’s hoping for change to the team that holds up the premiership cup in 2025,
“I know everyone wants to see Gold Coast finally get going, but I’d really like Hawthorn to win the Premiership. There are some nine-year-old Hawks supporters who have never seen a flag. It’s not fair.”
“I think it’s about time the AFL introduced a Wildcard Round, mainly because I’d love to see Essendon lose a final before the actual finals. I think we can all get behind that,” he said.
In an extra treat for footy fans, especially Hawthorn supporters, Full Sweat – a 90-minute documentary produced by Seven showcasing exclusive pre-season action at Hawthorn Football Club – will air straight after The Front Bar on Wednesday, 5 March at 9.30pm on Seven and 7plus Sport.
The Front Bar
Returns Wednesday, 8.30pm AEDT on Seven and 7plus Sport, followed by Full Sweat at 9.30pm.
Former Bulldogs player Mitch Hahn is the first guest of the new season premiere. Simon Black will appear later.
Although Lion remains as main sponsor of the show, the beer brand has changed from Furphy last year to Hahn this year.
Sam going to be absent due to his tonight show for a few weeks probably from it starts 17th March. So for 8 episodes
Also noticed that ‘Live & Free’ is back next to the logo. Sometimes during last year it wasn’t being shown.
Sam’s show is filmed on Mondays so why can’t he appear on The Front Bar on Wednesdays?
Do Ten not want him to be on Seven at the same time? Or too heavy a workload?
He worked on HYBPA (which was filmed on Mondays), so there’s no difference. Not sure why he can’t appear on both either. Especially since they have been promoting his show on The Front Bar during the whole show tonight.
It’s his own production company doing Sam Pang Tonight, I think. So I am assuming he needs to “prepare” for the show?
Edit: Pang is away from next week. Lawrence Mooney is the replacement. Why is Pang away next week, when his own show doesn’t start til the following week?
HYBPA is filmed on Sundays, except during the week of the TV Week Logie Awards when it is filmed on Saturday.
Producing your own show is a lot different to just appearing on HYBPA
Pre-production and rehearsals I guess
