Good to see him again.

Rob hosted the show from 1997 (After ratings crashed with Tony Barber following the sacking of John Burgess and moving production to Adelaide for no reason, along with changes to the format) until 2003.
I really liked Rob Elliott.
The downfall of the show then followed when Steve Oemcke (whom no-one outside of Victoria really knew) replaced him as host; he was then replaced by Larry Emdur for the 2006 season which proved to be the last on Seven.

Mick Molloy will be absent from tonight’s episode, as he is in Colombia, filming alongside Dr Chris Brown for the new Seven show Once in a Lifetime.
After going MIA yesterday, Mick Molloy has been found, safe and well. This morning on Triple M’s Mick and MG in the Morning, Mick finally surfaced. In
Est. reading time: 1 minute
EDIT: Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald will fill in for Mick.
Thank god, someone can get a word in now!
Sam Pang and Dwayne Russell were talking about how Pang used to produce Russell on Sports Today at 3AW back in the day with Clinton Grybas, never knew that. Anyone put a rough year on that?
Side note: somebody please update the Sports Today (now Wide World of Sports) Wiki page, looks like half its history has been deleted and my eyes
The show is trending tonight, well received ep.
Dwayne was a fantastic guest, I’ve always liked him but seeing him in a new light was amazing.
Catching-up on last week’s ep with Mack Horton and Terry Daniher on 7Plus (which are also raw broadcast uploads) and noticing the amount of sponsors the show now has, including on-set/in-program activations, is BWS (Beer Wine Spirits - owned by Woolworths IIRC) a new one, sponsored a segment with on-screen super?
I mentioned BWS’ involvement back in March.
New segment on tonight’s show: Refreshing BWS Stats, sponsored by liquor chain BWS. Each week, the hosts will mention an interesting piece of footy statistic related to the special guest.

Mick Molloy will be away again next week, with Lawrence Mooney filling in.
Next week’s guests are four-time Hawthorn premiership player John Kennedy Jr. and his son, former Hawks player and Swans captain Josh Kennedy (who played in Sydney’s 2012 premiership win over his previous club).
Good find!
Catching up on last week’s TFB, did the boys over-step the mark, when discussing/joking about Richmond Coach Adam Yze’s (special guest) name?
They had a segment on his Albanian background and surname, including some historical footage of a commentator when he played making fun of his name.
Molloy:
“What’s the worst you’ve been called?”
Yze:
“I’ve been called ee-zee, why-zee…”
Pang:
“…What, {scoff}, they’re just spelling out your name now!”
Yze:
“Ok, so we’re bagging my heritage now…” (I think)
Maher:
“Na na na”.
Molloy:
“That’s it… So…”
Immediately transitioned into next question/segment with ease. Viewers could’ve missed it, but definitely noticed this and I think Yze was definitely referring to the overall segment and the panellists in a negative way, but acting as a cool calm and collected pro guest without going off big time on-air. I could be wrong though, he might’ve been referring to something else or joking himself.
But isn’t the show all about ribbing and having a laugh? Guests would know what they’re in for, when going on the show. I doubt he would have been offended by that.
Lawrence Mooney and Fitzy filling in for Mick and Sam respectively this week.
TFB really missing its OGs regularly this year aren’t they, although Molloy and Pang are busy fellas, the former overseas (or has been) on network filming commitments AFAIK.

Mooney easily the best fill-in, well he was some years ago, might be taking a while to recover that mojo, though Fitzy is also always good (going back to Ten’s BTG also).
7AFL long-timer Matthew Richardson struggled last week IMO, tried his best and at least has a few decent things to add and is down to earth these days and rather a good listen on radio on AW, good thing not many were watching due to SOO, perhaps that was the plan.
Mooney easily the best fill-in
I find Mooney really ordinary and am less likely to watch the show when he is on
Loved tonight’s show, and in a way it was refreshing to have Mick and Sam off this week for a breather. Couldn’t do it too often though, just 2 or 3 times a year max.
