The Daily Edition

They’d want a third hour of The Chase if they could afford it. Not sure what else is in the syndie market that might be a good, cheap import.

The Morning Show could go against Studio 10 and run until 12:00pm, then have a midday bulletin, program encore from the night before then The Chase?

Considering the 2 hour gap might be a bit long, they can put Home and Away too before the encore. They really need to think outside of the box.

TDE probably pays for itself due to the advertorials it runs

The show brings in revenue through infomercials in a less competitive slot; 7 gets all of it compared to mornings where it is shared across networks.

It is also relatively cheap to produce too- low-profile talent, BTS team are on contract and the content is basically copied and pasted from TMS. No need to change the scheduling when it is profitable and rates, right?

Exactly. It obviously rates well enough to attract advertisers to still be airing after a number of years now.

Also handy having a live show (although not in some markets). The network then has continual live programs from 5am through to midday, 2pm-3pm, 4pm-5pm, 6pm-7pm and late (The Latest) on weekdays. Perfect for breaking news, etc.

Not enough to take over from The Midday Movie

Because that’s where the new Midday Show will screen.

What is the point of this show? One hour in an afternoon? Or is that just current times? I’m so confused by this.

Ex-Seven and Nine News presenter Kellie Sloane (Connolly) made an appearance on the show this afternoon. She is now the CEO of Life Education Australia.

I thought she left Life Education mid-last year.

That was Life Education NSW.

She got elevated to Life Education Australia (according to her LinkedIn, at least).

Its been a one hour show since the show began some years ago. But the only reason its still on is because of its advertorials

She did leave her NSW role early last year and had a break until her appointment this week as national CEO of Life Education.

@Avatar5991 Kellie has appeared on The Daily Edition representing Life Education quite a few times over the years.

The show was cut to half an hour today.

Any reasons why it was cut to half an hour today?

It was due to Seven showing the Scott Morrison presser sometime after 12:30pm today and then a replayed episode of House Rules being shown at 1:30pm in lieu of the afternoon movie.

Seven are in debt, and it is has been said that the morning shows do not make a profit on their advertorials, so why is The Daily Edition still on the air?

Whilst I quite like like Sally and Ryan, and believe they could takeover Larry and Kylie on the Morning Show, the content is disgraceful.
The program today spent two minutes discussing an interview on TMS today:

This interview wasn’t even relating to news of the day, as it about a survivor from the Manchester Bombing three years ago.
Then another two minutes discussing an interview from last night’s The Latest:

This is kind of OK, as does relate to news of the day. But it certainly did not require two minutes on today’s rundown.
