The Cheap Seats

Hopefully they will pay their respects to the death of it with some good stuff from the last few months.

“We’d been given this opportunity and we just kept thinking, ‘We’d better not screw it up!’” Mel and Tim reflect on how they felt when they first started four years ago as they ramp up to the new season of The Cheap Seats, returning April 30 on Channel 10. A shame we didn’t have a full cover photo. Hopefully they can give them a full cover later in the year. Maybe a shot featuring all three presenters: Mel, Tim and Mel.

I wonder if they will have a full time sports reporter this season or continue with different people every week

Interesting to read in that article in TV Week that Tim had directed the Law Revue sketch show at Melbourne University and that Mel Tracina was one of the people he directed.

They’re going hard on promoting this, despite being in season 3. Interesting, given the target demo, that they chose TV Week and the papers too.

There’s no harm trying to promote the show to a broader audience.

TV Week does stories on every new and returning show.

I was talking more from 10’s perspective than TV Week. Did 10 promote any other season this hard? Not that that’s a bad thing, it’s just interesting. And why chose TV Week to do a cover story, when their key audience is Home and Away viewers?

Even Home And Away viewers might also watch The Cheap Seats

Thank Oprah this show is back to call out the crap the commercial networks make us watch on the nightly.

WTF was that Tom Sacre report?
