Figures below amplify this statement.
The Chase dropped back to below 600,000 - down 72,000 on Tuesday while Tipping POint was up 20,000. The Brisbane result saw TP more than double The Chase though Perth saw a small win for The Chase.
The gap interestingly narrowed yesterday to just 109,000.
TP lost more than TC gained on a day-by-day basis.
Nothing special, both airing normal episodes.
The 5 city will be interesting. If I have to guess, one market significantly tuned out TP (canāt imagine any flocking to TC).
Nineās afternoon impacted by airing 2025 ICF Slalom World Championships instead of Tipping Point UK.
Thursday changes from day prior:
| 5 City | Syd | Mel | Bri | Ade | Per | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chase Aus | 19,000 | 17,000 | 5,000 | 12,000 | -1,000 | 12,000 |
| Tipping Aus | -31,000 | 1,000 | 1,000 | -27,000 | -6,000 | Unch |
Brisbane did most of the heavy lifting to close the gap. Then again, itās only one day.
Week 40 included a record prize giveaway on Tuesday for The Chase and Nineās disrupted afternoon schedule featuring Slalom World Championships.
The Chase averaged 610,400 and Tipping Point had 759,000.
The Chase was up 10,000 from last week and Tipping Point down 10,000 with the winning margin 149,000, the smallest in 10 weeks though not very different to some recent weeks 35 and 37 when the margins were 151,000 and 150,000 respectively.
The four contestants who won $141,000 had spoken to Womanās Day.
Down 47k in Sydney, 44k in Melbourne, 57k in Brisbane, 9k in Adelaide, 16k in Perth.
Yet another reason why this show wonāt be listed in 15 days.
Whether a drivetime block of news is viable is another question.
Not even over 100k in Melbourne. Jesus. Just axe it completely at the end of the season, slot in Border on non-cricket days over summer, and get something new for 2026.
Your predictions about shows being axed are not based on any credible evidence or analysis. Seven wonāt axe the show unless they have something guaranteed to beat Tipping Point.
Nine was running second with Millionaire Hotseat for years before they decided to try something different.
Seven are ramping up promotions for The Chase. Two of the Chasers were on The Morning Show and Larry said they were about to start filming new episodes. That would suggest they are filming for eps to screen in 2026.
Really?
It cannot survive at the level itās at now. The lead in to your main evening news, the program that sets up the rest of your night, cannot, and should not, have almost-10 level ratings. The Chase does.
Not to mention the fact that they previously predicted that The Chase would close the gap and be even with Tipping Point by now.
And yet, Seven News still beats Nine News despite the lead-in.
Do I foresee Winning Arvo back then, may I ask?
Whilst the numbers are certainly dire (from memory they werenāt as bad BEFORE the mega money spinner, so Seven unsurprisingly have sunk their own ship), Iād be curious to see how many tune in for the Final Chase alone - figures that Seven have but we donāt, sadly. The big difference in reach would possibly suggest the bulk are only watching the last 5-10 minutes

New Idea is a āvery reliable sourceāā¦.. They love talking to an āinsider" who is never named. Rightio.
Sure. I was told to have no source or evidence to back it up.
Have shown one and Iām being lambasted.
The fact Iām getting a goalpost-moving troll is very funny as well. Happy to take it.
Letās see who gets the last laugh.
Thatās ironic from someone who is trolling various threads about shows supposedly being axed based on nothing but speculation.
