I have always been struck by how Australian players of The Chase take the high offer far less frequently than their British counterparts, and they also take the low offer considerably more.
Would Beat the Chasers work at 5pm for 7? Itâs still the chase but a newer format. I know they stopped it because of the name âchasersâ but maybe they can rename it and do it?
Logistically it wouldnât work. Youâd have to have all the chasers in studio every day to film 180ish? episodes. Thatâs a lot of work. At least now they can film 2/3 episodes at a time and theyâre spread out.
a more engaging format too IMO
but canât see it happening, would cost a fortune (paying 5-6 talent per episode compared to 2 for regular Chase, and bigger prizemoney)
Gap with Tipping Point decreased to 104,000 for yesterdayâs episode.
Fully expect this to be a one-off.
I thought you were tipping the shift over the next month for TCA to overtake TP?
Yeah we get it Mick
Remember that innocent time when Winning Arvo wasnât a thing?
That prediction was made then.
That shouldnât matter. âWinning Arvoâ has been shown that is not affecting the 3pm and 5pm ratings.
Yeah.
Donât talk about decreasing the gap with TP when the numbers are not even helping.
The result was lower than the previous two Mondays.
Did TP also go down?
TP was 20k lower than the previous Tuesday.
Per market
When you look at the above it is not such a tragic tale. Perth wins. Adelaide close. Sydney okay. Melbourne is a decent gap and Brisbane is a wipe out.
It is not as dire when put into perspective - aside from Brisbane of course
I recall Brisbane being closer (but still a loss) when Seven Gold Coast news was around - canning it was a mistake surely
Youâd have to think so.
Largely because the Aussies screwed up the format by making the cash builder $2k an answer rather than $1k and then didnât double the high offers in relative terms. Youâre more likely to gamble $6k to win $30k than $12k to win $30k.
Canât be more right.
It exploded to 193,000 for yesterday. (Corrected below, miscalculated as 216k earlier.)
(Minimal impact on the 6pm bulletin, mind you.)
The gap was 193k yesterday
