As I have said before, this man’s behaviour is reckless and unpredictable. I fear that this won’t end well for himself or someone else.
Despite the fact that this will be cringe, good to see The Beast is back.
Who is this new chaser? I’m yet to see him get a question correct.
He only needed to get 12 and is struggling to get above 3.
It’s “The Professor”. He has been on air a few times this year. Losing to 12 isn’t good. But then again, I’ve seen “The Beast” struggle and lose to 13 before. It’s nothing new.
They all have great nights, and the very rare crap nights.
Oh no - I hope he gets more help. This has escalated even more so.
That ‘paparazzi’ (looked more like a random with a smartphone) intentionally antagonising and being rather abusive to AOK during his private Police station matter, as seen on the news tonight, was being a real dick.
I just wish we’d stop hearing about it and media let it be, they’ve become obsessed. Let him get the help he needs. Remembering he has young children and their mother.
Not trying to defend the guy though, obviously has done repeated nasty things. Has clear mental health and drug issues though.
Exactly - when I heard on the news that he went to the police station to ask the media to back away, I thought they really need to leave him alone now. It’s very clear that he has his own troubles, and he needs space and time away from everyone. If they keep doing stuff like this, and reporting on every issue with great intensity, then it may push him towards more serious trouble.
He needs to get out of Sydney, obviously got some bad friends who keep inviting him to ritzy parties and providing his drugs
Thats how I feel when these articles are posted to this thread. Shouldn’t the AOK drama be in the General news section or the like now? He’s not been a part of this show for some time now.
With this I have noticed many of the articles have stopped referring to him as former The Chase Australia host and he’s now the former Deal Or No Deal host but yes, I do think he has well and truly finished his television career with it seems no chance of resurrecting it. It’s a shame, he was obviously an intelligent and charismatic person but now his life is clearly at risk with his addictions.
Tipping Point has been getting comfortably on top of The Chase again the past week or two, getting back to pre-Olympics trends? And we’re talking total national. Wide gaps especially on the east coast. Even five city metro.
Seven getting nervous again?
The ‘Mega Money Spinner’ campaign for next week has been ridiculous, basically promos every ad break, seen other online ads, possibly newspapers too, cross-promotions, social media and all channels except 7Bravo have a PRG pop-up promo after every single ad this week. Regular marketing during tonight’s AFL Prelim too, including main channel in Sydney with Swans and also Brisbane.
According to Mara’s Instagram, Larry filmed his 500th episode of The Chase this week, and the Chasers and the crew gathered to celebrate the milestone.

I’m looking forward to next week. Sounds exciting. Definitely worth a look.
Out of curiosity, how many did AOK film?
He hosted from its inception in 2016 (initially filmed 2015?) to 2021, when 2019-2020 a stockpile of episodes were filmed, following his public mental health struggles citing his divorce in 2017 (also stepping away from WS at the end of that year) and adjustment to his roster, with a quiet exit following contract not being renewed at the end of 2020. This was prior to his reprehensible drug and domestic violence downfall plus a coincidence of a global pandemic which followed. He was lucky to still be kept on-air until mid-2021 Olympics and ratings never dropped.
Larry took over ‘after the Olympics’.
First aired in September 2015, so probably filmed early-mid 2015.
Was during the Olympics (aired at 5:30 on most days except for major events).
God they’re getting desperate ![]()
And just on that trivia… Seven’s Armchair Experts’ own Adam Cooney famously stole Matthew Richardson’s Brownlow back in 2008, pipped at the post and never lets him forget it. Poor Richo, the Richmond legend, in his 2nd last year after 17 years for the club. And has now been in TV for 16 years, 15 at Seven.
Notice too: A Ten telecast and Stephen Quartermain. They were the best IMO.

They had the chase segment with the shark for the whole season on the Friday post match
I think this is a tad harsh - no different to any other show being promoted by a network
Though one can’t help but think the change is unnecessary (like that Double Trouble thing they did), Seven need to leave the show alone and let it breathe. The rating loss margins aren’t “that” bad considering Hot Seat was losing by 100k-200k metro alone before regionals was added. Air less repeats and try and get more contestant wins
I was specifically referring to, yes, the unnecessary tactics and gimmicks, namely last night’s in-program AFL trivia with their Richo instead of the usual Shark… Why not just standard promos on higher rotation. Aren’t Nine simply doing that with TP? Are they even needing to promote TP anymore? As we all discussed pre-Olympics, it feels as if Seven are clearly concerned about things, if not right not, immediate future.
