Agree. House of Wellness could move to a late Saturday/Sunday afternoon slot.
mods if there’s a better thread please move, but a lot of the discussion on this seems to take place here
The AOK news, IMO, just seems on the verge of being a bit ‘cruel’ now. Like, this story has for some reason been unrelenting the last few years, especially from Nine and tabloids, perhaps indicative of the former star and just how much he’s fallen. But c’mon, give the guy a break, some privacy. There was just articles and press coverage days ago and the week before that and 2 weeks before that, on top of the hundred others, mostly on repeat… It’s really none of our business. Especially when mental health and addiction are involved. The publicly reported DV stuff aside. Also he has young children. You wonder what those close or formerly close with him at Seven and the wider industry feel, let alone if they’re part of this witch hunt. I’ve probably not articulated this 100%, but you get what I mean.
For what it’s worth, there’s heaps of DM comments online and they’re overwhelmingly on Andrew O’Keefe’s side now / support my above thoughts.
Agreed - he should be given a chance to rehabilitate, or at least only run articles when there are major developments instead of rinse and repeat articles.
Jump the Shark? Really?
I thought the same. Not really using the reference in the right context…
The Professor was there last night too. Good to see him being there. Is he a guest chaser or permanent? I know he did film his shows ages ago.
Usually, in the Final Chase, Larry would cross to the Newsroom between the contestant and the chaser. But tonight, it was done prior to the contestant turn. Has this happened before?
First time that has happened!!
Prefer it with the news break in the middle, the editing was very obvious when joining the segments together, and made the final chase feel more rushed.
It was the same when they dropped the commercial break between the final multiple choice quiz round and the final chase earlier this year. Obviously, there are some unfavourable audience retention rates in those last 15 mins affecting the news.
Was more obvious today IMO than when they usually do the edit - was probably a last minute decision.
It must be pretty bad then
I found it odd this evening. The editing wasn’t that flash.
But then again, sometimes having the news headlines so close to the actual news bulletin - when the chaser’s final round is done in less than a minute - is a little jarring. We get two headlines in under two minutes.
Nine years ago next month, The Chase Australia premiered and none of us had any idea how long it would last. This week, Matt Parkinson and I each filmed our 300th episodes respectively. I feel very lucky to be able to play games for a job #thechaseaus @larryemdur pic.twitter.com/knrlEpYugy
