The issue 7 have is The Chase is still bringing in ok numbers, but it just isn’t in the same league as Tipping Point. So do they blow up their 5pm schedule and start again or do they ride the wave for another 12 months hoping for a miracle resurgence, and risk loosing even more viewers to TP and Nine News?
If they do axe The Chase and it’s replacement pulls fewer eyes (7 have a history of this - Million Dollar Minute and The Price is Right come to mind), they’ll be in an even worse position had they stuck with The Chase. A big risk either way.

Arguably was a mistake to use the new Chasers against the opening weeks of Tipping Point - familarity would probably have been it’s strong point then and holding back the new Chasers until they needed to fight back with something (i.e. now) might have been more effective.

Seven will keep The Chace in the short term, but I think the format has clearly waned with viewers. Seven need to start looking at future alternatives.

If 10 didn’t get their hands on DoND then Seven could’ve gone back to that.

Also, I think Nine and 10 have the rights to a lot other Game Show formats.
When Hot Seat was in the exact same situation back in 2015 (and losing by bigger numbers), Nine tweaked the format and managed to get another eight years out of it. That’s one thing Seven has never done to Chase - changed any element of the format itself. If they can come up with an engaging twist they might be able to milk the show for a few more years. Upping the prize money and showing fewer repeats can’t do any harm either

It was? From my memory Hot Seat was at its peak around this time. Killing off DOND, and the other Seven game show that followed.

Except get a better host, someone similar to Lee Mack - Marty Sheargold seems to be free next year?
Beat the chasers (if the lawsuit is settled etc) could that be an option or is it too similar?

Honestly this guy seems to have more chances than anyone, cause of his public profile? Seems like every other month he’s back in the news with further charges or alleged behaviour. Hope he’s getting help

Agreed. He continues to get bail when he really needs to be locked up for his own good before he hurts himself or someone else.

The courts in this country are weak as piss. The cops do so much to try and protect the community and arrest people and it’s the bloody judges and court system that lets them off.
