Maybe they should just drop the low offer altogether
Thatâs part of the gameplay. Theyâre not dropping that.
Iâve seen one of these promos featuring the Supernerd as well.
Sunrise shouldâve thought about what clips of The Chase and Beat The Chasers to include in the package:
I wouldâve expected both Goliath and the Supernerd wouldâve been at the board for the head to head round. Instead they have Goliath as the chaser for contestants 1 and 3 and the Supernerd for contestants 2 and 4. If they had Goliath and the Supernerd at the board for the head to head round then they should have 2 keypads. If Goliath locks his answer in first then his answer is accepted.
And for the final chase pressing a buzzer to answer a question.
Iâm glad they didnât, it would have ruined the format. I personally would have set it up to have the game appear normal until the appearance of the Chasers, then let the first player choose between the two. Everyone else would pick between the two before they get to the board and then just have the chosen Chaser appear. The Final Chase would be the same.
Terrible show in my opinion. I gave a perfect description of how I expected Double Trouble would work and how it shouldâve been done. At the end of the show when Goliath came back it looked awkward with him towering over the Supernerd.
IMO it would be better if it was two chasers at the same time.
Maybe in fantasy land you idea would be perfect, but in the real world it takes the format too far away from the original for it to be any good. What they have done is probably as far as they can really go without straying too far into gimmick territory.
It doesnât seem to be new, looks like the same one that has been in use at least since Larry took over. My question is what ever happened to the LED floor that appeared for a short period at the start of Larryâs tenure:
How they had it set up then didnât really work, but with a bit of tweaking it would look a hell of a lot better than the one they currently have
Yes thatâs what I meant
Wow, 2.5 years goes fast and we already have a new Olympics broadcaster well underway with marketing and the Games just months awayâŚ
It wasnât quite the format change I was expecting, but now I think about it I think that was probably smart. Why mess with a successful formula? And they left the final chase alone (easily the best part of the show)
Did not really enjoy this version, unnecessary and changed the momentum and feel of the usual show for mine.
Although the final chase was good, all members remaining, $50k+ and 19 steps with Izza falling easily short with a tough set of questions for him and about 4 or so questions to go, laughed how he just gave up and said âoh, youâre winning a lot of money!â
The (temporary) Format Change is due to 7 taking Tipping Point on Channel 9 somewhat seriously. Although it seems 7 are confident theyâll still âwinâ over TP by leaving every Friday on repeats.
Double Trouble is just a âscaled downâ version of the UK Christmas Specials, where they had 5 Chasers rotate against a team of 4. But adopted that format with only Two Chasers in Australia, and decided to brand it as âDouble Troubleâ
