Not the Australian version but Beat the Chasers UK is currently on 7 due to the cricket not on.

I tuned in late, as i dont follow the cricket, and realised it was on thanks to this site. But sadly, i had visitors over, so i only saw snippets of it. But from what i watched, i enjoyed it too.
Good to see the Super Nerd alongside the other Chasers on the board.

NPC Media playout did not update the EPG live this evening, following the drastically changed programming. Usually Seven do. This will not have helped tonight with viewer confusion.

It’s on in Perth next Wednesday, according to the weekly schedule. The Cricket Big Bash seems to be on in other cities, at this stage.
The one time it aired in Sydney, and i missed half of it. Bigger! lol.

Some kudos to Seven Promotions for actually bothering to create promos for every night, in summer non-ratings, for one market, and a small one (including the 8.30pm movie re-runs). Due to the 3 hour time difference and BBL scheduling to satisfy east coast.
Yet often don’t, questionably, at other times of the year, such as five city playout, ratings survey and m/c like 7flix.

Yes, I wasn’t sure where to post to try and get the word out about it!
I actually quite enjoyed it, normally I’m not too much of a fan of Bradley but it was good and great with the Australian connections with Supernerd and the contestant.
I do wonder whether there might be some sort of a hybrid type thing with these Chase double Chaser episodes - e.g. they have less time or something but we’ll have to see.

Does anyone know with these special Double Trouble episodes next week, if they are still airing the normal repeats on Friday, or they running new episodes all week to combat Tipping Point?
I think they should get rid of the low offer and have a cash amount above $100,000 1 step below the chaser for 7 correct answers. Contestants who take the low offer are stupid. They are better than the low offer.
And have the possibility of the round ending after one question? Seems like a bad idea.
The low offer isn’t just for “stupid” people, it can be a tactical option. Statistics of the Final Chase (and there are people out there who track these things, oddly) show that the more heads at the desk, the better the odds of the team winning. Yes, it might seem to you or I to be a cowardly or stupid option, especially if the low offer is negative. But simply put, they are trying to maximise the odds of everyone winning real money.

I mean on Beat The Chasers United Kingdom taking on 6 chasers for £500,000 with no time advantage is impossible 90% of the time. Just imagine how much of an idiot a contestant is who’d take on 2 chasers for £5,000 with a 22 second time advantage. They’re better than that lol
The trouble with the Aussie version is they screwed up by offering $2k a question rather than $1k when the high offers were not going to be any higher in the dollar value than in the sterling value on the UK version. It’s better to have the extremes to tempt people to play rather than give them a higher standard figure and then a not much higher higher-offer.
The US made this mistake too in their first ABC series with $25k a question, but corrected it for subsequent series by dropping it down to $10k a question which made offers of $250k-$400k more attractive in comparison to say $60k than $150k.
But that is the risk you take. You are gambling what is a truely life-changing amount of money on your ability to beat 6 of the smartest quiz brains in the world. What sets this apart from the normal Chase (which I am fairly sure you have only brought this up to try and prove your previous point) is the chess clock format. Yes she was beaten with nearly 30 seconds on the clock, but the format still made it exciting regardless. You always have the feeling that the Chasers might have a rough little patch and the game can turn quickly.
For some people, £5,000 might be enough for them. Others may feel confident answering the questions that are on the screen in front of them, but less so answering questions against the clock. There are many logical reasons why someone might consider the offer. Plus, that bottom offer is always what they earned in the Cash Builder, so it has to be offered to them and sets the guide for the money+time offers they receive.

Won’t happen - especially for a 5pm show, waaaaaay too expensive. This isn’t 2001

I think it’s great that the Cash Builder offers $2,000 for each correct answer. It’s more money that way, whereas on the British version if 4 contestants get back to the final chase they’d be playing for £18,000, compared to $38,000 on the Australian version.
