The Chase Australia

Chas Licciardello also had his moments. Anyway, back on topic…

Going by comments made here, the debut of Larry Emdur on The Chase Australia seemed promising enough (wasn’t amazingly brilliant, but not horrible either) but of course we probably won’t really have a good idea of how well viewers respond to his presenting style on this show for about a month.

Same.

“Hahaha…BANKMAN!” (mightn’t have said that exact quote on DOND, but that’s kind of the annoying vibe I got from his presenting of the show)

Contestant: I’ll pick Case 26.
AOK & crowd: Booyeah!

Ways to improve The Chase:

  • Have everyone shout “booyah!” when the contestant takes the higher offer

ITV Studios AU, just send a cheque to my usual address.

I know in the UK they pay the Chasers per individual episode appearances, but I never realised Australia supposedly do it that way do.

You’d think they’ll be producing enough new episodes to have five each week, at least for a few months.

Now that Larry’s episodes are on, I can’t imagine they’d want to repeat the AOK episodes on Fridays. Probably good schedule filler for 7two though.

They would have roughly 6 years of AOK episodes to air on 7two and it’s probably better than airing the same two years of Million Dollar Minute.

Looks like The Chase won’t be airing on the East Coast today. Because Seven are currently showing Jess Fox’s race at the Olympics. These half hour episodes are set for these two weeks too and are hard to be repeated throughout the normal year.

Edit out any reference to the Olympics and keep for a day when there’s breaking news or during the cricket season.

I’m watching today’s ‘half edition’ and Larry seems to be more comfortable in the hosting position. He does have a Bradley Walsh vibe about him and I’m sure he’ll improve throughout his tenure.

Just one thing, his voice during the final chase sounds like someone in an ASMR video. Needs a bit more oomph and authority.

Today’s episode is on 7plus for those who missed it.

The last filming session was during April-May, with Anne The Governess in the country during that period.

The most recent session was meant to film late June, but things hit the fan with the Sydney lockdown. Therefore production has indefinitely been delayed. Although they could temporarily move back to Melbourne (or to Brisbane), Victoria and Queensland has 14 day quarantine requirements for travellers from NSW.

Larry and Cheryl (The Tiger Mum) live in NSW and both have other jobs in addition to their Chase Australia roles, so there’s the scheduling issue plus allowing for Quarantine for both if TCA temporarily has to move interstate.

Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett also is increasingly unlikely to be returning to Australia this year, with Family + Chase USA commitments this year. This is also taking into consideration the evolving Sydney lockdown and looming extension which is likely to finish early September.

Labbett is also likely be required back in the USA before the end of this year to film Season 3 of The Chase USA. The pay per episode on rate on the US version is likely to be a lot more than the Australian version, and probably a similar rate on the UK show.

I can only see Mondays episode

Tuesdays was there. I swear!!

I can confirm too that today’s episode was definitely there but seems to have been pulled.

IMO (controversial view maybe considering the ratings last night), but this just highlights why it shouldn’t have started until after Tokyo 2020, I’m sure another Australian medal event around 5:30pm or 6pm will happen again during the games. They knew the risks.

LOL if The Chase does 1m+ metro or something tomorrow if an incorrect coding, because of those watching Jess Fox’s canoe final. @TV.Cynic

It definitely was - I watched it last night. Supernerd was the chaser.

Wonder if they pulled it so they can replay it tonight.

The ‘final chase’ is still the best, don’t watch the full 30min or hour like I often did on a regular basis a few years back, but that last quarter of the show, especially the last 5min is still great TV and perfect for dinner time, etc before hard core news kicks in.

Probably the case seeing as all markets didn’t air

I think he got that response wrong. Seven paid the money for the Olympics which are then bumped off the main channel of a game show.

They paid a lot of money for the olympics to bring eyeballs to game shows like the Chase.
