The Bachelor Australia

New Idea were the one with the anonymous source regarding Richie’s “pong” Probably about as accurate as New Weekly

Well the NW spoilers were spot on with the final 3.

There’s a photo going around on social media of one of the girls at the races recently with what looks like a diamond ring on her finger. I take this with a grain of salt as I think if someone did get a ring from the show they wouldn’t be stupid enough to wear it until the show is over.

I really like Olena and think she would be a great as next years Bachelorette but Nikki would definitely be the right choice for Richie. She seems really genuine. Do not pick annoying Alex!!

You know he will though.

Social media has pretty much gone into meltdown over that result. Seems like pretty much every viewer wanted Nikki to win.

She seemed perfect for him. How annoying. Although she deserves so much better than boring robotic Richie. Hands down the worst and most awkward Bachelor ever.

Only later responses have started to acknowledge that it wasn’t a viewer-voted competition  and it was up to Richie to make the choice. Ten now have a ready-made Bachelorette for 2017.

The Bachelor Australia – The Final Decision.
Richie Declares His Love For Alex.

In tonight’s unforgettable and dramatic season finale of The Bachelor Australia, Richie introduced Alex and Nikki to his family and planned one last date for each of the ladies before he faced the biggest decision of his life.

As Richie embarked on the final stages of his epic adventure, he was happy to be reunited with his mother Kate and sister Alana, who flew to Bali to meet the lucky ladies he had chosen as his final two.

With his family’s tick of approval, Richie prepared for his final dates for Alex and Nikki before he faced the difficult decision.

Nikki, a self-professed romantic, was picked up in a helicopter bound for the mountains. After a walk through a moss-covered temple and monkey forest, the couple returned to town for a glass of wine and an intimate chat.

Alex’s date with Richie began with a yacht on the high seas. As they playfully swam in the ocean and sipped champagne, Alex worked up the courage to tell Richie that she had fallen in love with him.

After two perfect dates, Richie knew he had built special, unique relationships with both ladies. But would it be Alex, who impressed Richie so much that she received the coveted white rose, or Nikki, the vivacious country girl from Western Australia who Richie took on the very first single date?

Later on, Richie anxiously awaited the arrival of the Bachelorettes. When Nikki arrived first he told her wholeheartedly that she was the perfect girl – family-orientated, fun and romantic – but unfortunately he needed to follow his heart and his heart was with Alex.

After an emotional declaration of love, Richie gave Alex a diamond friendship ring to symbolise his willingness to give her his heart and to make the relationship work. The happy couple embraced.

Alex, 24, a venue manager from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, said: “I love how Rich makes me feel. He makes me feel alive and safe, and he just makes me so happy. I am just so happy right now. I have a gorgeous man, who I absolutely love and adore.”

Richie, 31, said: “This has been an incredible experience. It has taught me a lot about who I am as a man and it has led me to meet an amazing person. Alex is absolutely perfect and she is a part of my life now.”

Bring on a Bachelor in Paradise :stuck_out_tongue:

I preferred Bachelor Pad as a spin off concept. It was kind of more like Paradise Hotel back in the day or a more strategical Bachelor in Paradise with a $$ prize as well. But yes I think there have been enough seasons now with enough contestants to be able to do one or the other.

A bit surprised that Richie chose Alex over Nikki given Richie’s mother didn’t seem to like Alex being a single mother, similar to Snezana last year. There must be some special quality within Alex that convinces Richie that she is the one.

Some interesting articles going around like this (most viewed article today on News.com.au). Seems like the Bachelor has completely changed everyone’s opinion of Richie!

Whilst obviously it’s Richie’s choice and he has to go with who he thinks suit him best, as viewers we are always going to have an opinion. I think it’s a fair call from the viewers to feel this way for a number of reasons. Alex did come across as really over possessive with Richie this season. She also comes across as a bit young and immature, plus other factors like how she lived on the opposite side of the country and even the fact that Richie to this day has still not met her son (that is a bit weird don’t you think?). I’m not sure how genuine it all feels with them but time will tell.

In comparison Nikki is a down to earth likeable girl who really wore her heart on her sleeve. Someone like that is always going to have a connection with viewers. Richie was awkward and boring as a Bachelor anyway. Nikki can do better!

Agree it could fill up the Friday 8:30 slot quite nicely.

Ten has confirmed a 2017 season for The Bachelor!!

According to Ten both segments of last night’s final “recorded the highest audience shares in 25 to 54s and total people in the five years that The Bachelor Australia has been on air.”

Interesting statistics from Ten’s press release:
Last night’s finale trended at #1 on Twitter in Australia with a 64% share of all television related tweets. It also trended #1 on Twitter worldwide.
Series 4’s average seven-day online catch-up audience of 93,000 viewers is the highest number achieved by an Australian television show so far in 2016 (even bigger than MasterChef).
2016 Video Segment Views on tenplay: 17.9 million, up 16% on 2015.
2016 Video Starts on tenplay: 5.05 million, up 26% on 2015.
2016 Unique Video Visitors on tenplay: 1.16 million, up 23% on 2015.
Facebook Average Total Weekly Reach: 4.2 million, up 71% on 2015 series.
Twitter Average Total Weekly Impressions: 480,000, up 4% on 2015 series.
Facebook: 238,000 “likes”, up 13% from 211,000 when the series started on 27 July 2016.
Instagram: 111,000 followers, up 32% from 84,400 on 27 July 2016.

Some of those stats are interesting but some are just silly… like Facebook likes increasing. Every Facebook page increases in likes with time.

How it is silly? More likes often means better engagement and people seeing their content if the page is managed well. With clips and promos from the show being shared on there & emphasis put on 2nd screen viewing these days it’s all relative.

The Bachelor but with 50 girls!!
