The Amazing Race

I thought the same for the last stage wasn’t as high intense as normal. Some of the stages in this years did lack a degree of difficulty.

Are they running out of ideas?

Still was awesome seeing this years season, after I was lucky enough to watch the filming of the Vietnam leg and meeting Phil!

Just caught up on the finale and was disappointed in the result. The most loud, annoying and argumentative team took this out. What a shame. I waz hoping team Lolo could sneak in a win.

Overall though a great season and good locations. The final leg was better than some of the more recent seasons that became a bit gimmicky and too much reliant on taxi rides. At least this involved a fair bit of running around in the final destination city.

Has the next season started filming yet? I know they opened applications a while ago. I’m guessing TAR is just going to be once a year now?

New season is currently being filmed. I was hoping for an All Stars edition for this season (30) but they’ve opted for the usual pairings, including two former contestants from US Big Brother.

The new season completed filming a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully it’s not too far off and it’s smarter to air it soon with the Big Brother contestants in there as nobody will care about them in a few months time. Although I’m predicting CBS hold onto it as either filler programming or for the US summer.

Agree that Season 30 was an opportunity to do something big. They must have thought that with the show being shafted to Friday nights and not being as popular as it once was that there might not be much interest in another All Stars. I still think though that if the show is on it’s last legs it could have been a good opportunity to end the show with a bang for the diehard fans. I would have loved a season of just previous winners.

I’m a diehard Amazing Race fan, I have watched every season of the show, apart from season 8, but I think the show is on it’s last legs, you may get 1 maybe 2 more seasons of the show before it’s cancelled, hopefully they plan on visiting Australia one more time.

I’m a more diehard fan. I’ve seen every season :stuck_out_tongue: I think TAR has been very hit and miss the last few seasons. Some of the tasks/locations have been gimmicky at times but I’ve found the casting to be decent the last couple of seasons. It’s better to end it with a bang now then drag it on I think. Personally I don’t want it to end but the way it’s being treated now it’s possibly time to put it to rest.

It’s a pity that Seven don’t repeat the real early seasons of the show (seasons 1 to 10) they were the best.

Some of the last few seasons have been terrible. The last one wasn’t bad, though (and my favourite team won it for the first time I can remember).

A repeat of Season 24 (All Stars) starts this Sunday on 7Flix. From memory this was a great season with some really good challenges.

Season 24 was one of the better recent seasons of TAR & it had worthy winners as well.

For me the last two seasons were decent, however the two seasons before that were a bit more gimmicky. My fave cast of the recent seasons was the online sensation season… I usually don’t like gimmicky casting but it actually was a good season.

CBS has announced season 30 of The Amazing Race will premiere on Wednesday, January 3, which is bad news for the show’s fans here, given Seven’s commitments to the summer of tennis, Winter Olympics and Commonwealth Games. Seven, 7TWO and 7mate will be used for sports coverage at various times and may not be able to air the show close to the US broadcast in a regular timeslot. In the US, season 30 will air two-hour episodes for four weeks, allowing it to fit a whole season into eight weeks. The final four episodes will be shown up against NBC’s Winter Olympics telecast.
Filming took place entirely in October, with the teams departing at Washington Square Park in New York City on October 1.
Here is the US schedule.
January 3: episode 1
January 10: episode 2
January 17: episode 3
January 24: episode 4 and 5
January 31: episode 6
February 7: episode 7 and 8
February 14: episode 9 and 10
February 21: episode 11 and 12

Couldn’t Seven use 7flix instead?

I don’t want TAR to air on 7flix, picture quality is poor to my liking.

If Seven pull their finger out, 7flix could be live streaming in HD by then.

I’m just glad it’s coming back soon and CBS aren’t sitting on it forever like they did the last season. It definitely seems like they use now as filler whenever they have a gap in their schedule.

I have no issue if they put it on 7Two or 7Flix. I would rather it on one of those channels than inconsistent scheduling on the main channel.

Only 5 days after the US and in a good timeslot. I am shocked.
