The Amazing Race Australia

Not sure if they still do it or not but in the past eliminated teams were sequestered somewhere until the final episode. From what I remember all eliminated teams except for one have been sequestered. The only team not to do this was a team who was eliminated at the starting line. They decided to go home and played no further part of the race.

Not in the celebrity edition last year though. Only the final three teams made it to the finish line at Kuala Lumpur.

Celeb edition didn’t have any teams on the finish line

And I think Season 6 (last normie season) only had the last few teams (from an absurdly large cast of 20 teams).

But Covid was a factor though. Teams had to drop out completely or drop out and come back so the whole season was a bit of a mess.

Peter Helliar was on The Project tonight and briefly discussed his and Bridget’s journey during this season. He said he could not reveal much before the show’s premiere, but said Bridget was a great team partner.

EDIT: the full chat

. @pjhelliar may be an old friend of the show, but he has bone to pick with Waleed over a few text messages... pic.twitter.com/gYmR9KJNVX

On Have You Been Paying Attention? tonight, Peter Helliar confirmed teams had to eat meat off a horse’s head during one of the tasks. That put him off the meat for the rest of the day.

Saw that in a promo the other day, looked…interesting that’s for sure.

Love this 90 sec promo.

The Sunday Telegraph today has a double page interview with Natalie Bassingthwaighte, who teamed up with sister Melinda Sheldrick, and chose Black Dog Institute as their charity. Nat said that this season had been so under wraps that her two other sisters, their parents and kids still had no idea about where Nat and Mel went and what they did, so they would all be watching the show as a family when it starts on September 9.

Here’s the story for anyone interested.

Another interview with Nat, this time in TV Week.

The article mentions that teams in this season visited Argentina, South Africa, Namibia and Thailand.
