According to the preview at the end of tonight’s episode, Kathy & Chace and Stuart & Glennon would rejoin the race in Colombia. Beau would also resume his role as host in Colombia.

Blonde Buddies Bungle Their Race Leg.

Morgan And Lilli From Queensland. Eliminated From The Amazing Race Australia.

Türkiye’s Alaçati, situated on its turquoise coast was the setting for tonight’s ninth leg of The Amazing Race Australia.

Ever tried to grab an ice cream? Neither had any of the Teams and surprisingly, not as easy as it sounds when the ice cream vendor is a bit of a trickster.

With Angel and Frankie quick on their reflexes, they got a good head start and were onto the Detour to try their hand at driving a sports car on the water.

Nailing the turbo challenge, the pair were on to smash their faces into bowls of sugar to find Turkish Delight.

With Flick and Gabby hot on their heels, it was Angel and Frankie who found Scott Tweedie at the Pit Stop by mere minutes, with Moran and Lilli arriving last and ultimately eliminated from The Race.

On Sunday night, Teams head to Columbia and with two isolating Teams re-joining The Race, tensions will explode.

The Amazing Race Australia. Continues Sunday At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play.

There are still teams that I barely know. Normally within a day or so it’s fairly easy to bond with the teams, but when you start with 20 teams it just makes it confusing.

It looks like there was a pattern this season, with teams competing in three legs in each country per week.

Based on the episode aired so far and previous promos, this is my guess of the trip:
Week 1: Morocco
Week 2: Greece
Week 3: Türkiye
Week 4: Colombia
Week 5: Belize
Week 6: Mexico
Week 7: Western Australia (teams were spotted in Perth and Fremantle, from posts in this thread in April, but I don’t think Perth would be the finish line any more)

It’s interesting what you learn on this show. I didn’t know that Turkey had asked the international community to recognise it by its Turkish name Türkiye.

Two teams came back into the race after isolation. And a different 5 went into it with Beau still in his hotel room

Sounds like an absolute mess of a season. How is the fair with all this stopping, starting, people leaving, people returning?

They are doing the best they can under the circumstances. The teams that come back in start last and have to compete a speed bump. With the closeness of the finishes, that could easily see them eliminated or end near the back of the pack. If they are good enough to make it through it suggests they would probably still be in the race at this point anyway, though of course nothing can be certain.

Well what do you expect them to do when people kept testing positive for Covid. It will be interesting to see how the US version handles this when it returns this week.

Maybe it was too early to return it.

This is the world we live in now, productions will just have to adapt. No use in waiting any longer.

The Amazing Race Canada in the latest season had three teams test positive. They returned a couple of episodes later and the three had to find one of two clues in a golf course with the one who didn’t find it didn’t make it back in.

Competitive Lawyer Cousins Crumble At Speed Bump.

Kathy And Chace From New South Wales. Eliminated From The Amazing Race Australia.

Heading to Bogota in Colombia, Lawyer Cousins Kathy and Chace and Baru Mates Stuart and Glennon were back from their stint in quarantine and ready to race.

Absolutely nailing the selfie challenge with local graffiti art, Angel and Frankie were back in first place and headed for the Detour of playing polo on a bike.

Scoring a goal way ahead of the other Teams, they were off again to throw metal discs at gunpowder packets in a Colombian national pastime called Tejo.

With an outstanding lead, Angel and Frankie were off again, this time to the market to purchase local herbs to make a nice, sleep tight tea. Catch was, the market was closed so they had to wait for it open, allowing other teams to catch up.

Kathy and Chace hit their gunpowder target on their first try, received their clue and were greeted with the news there was a Speed Bump for themselves and Stuart and Glennon waiting for them after the market challenge.

Heath and Toni ran into a speed bump of their own when their cabbie decided to drive over a bollard and getting a flat tyre in the process. Deciding to leg it through dark streets, they eventually arrived at the market realising they weren’t in last place.

Once the Teams had weighed their herbs, they were on to the Pit Stop, unless you were returning teams who then headed back into the market to find additional herbs.

In the end it was a footrace between the returning teams with Kathy and Chace getting eliminated.

Tomorrow night, teams get high in Colombia with you guessed it, even more stairs!

I guess it now makes sense why they chose to start with 20 teams because it gave them a buffer when teams came down with covid. But to lose five teams at the same time…wow!

Five teams have to isolate due to COVID is unpredecented.

I did not think it was fair to have the speed bump right before the pit stop in last night’s episode. It pretty much guaranteed that one of the two teams getting out of iso would be eliminated.

I am sure the speed bump has to be related to the main task. The tasks in the episode (selfies of Guache’s street art and tejo) didn’t have related elements that could form a speed bump.

Interesting that last night’s leg began at Radisson Blu Resort and Spa in Cesme, which is a 10 minute drive from Alacati (pitstop of previous leg).

Not necessarily. It’s always just been an extra task.

Beau could be seen packing his suitcase in his Athens hotel room in tonight’s episode. He said he had been given the all clear and would rejoin the race soon.

(As it turns out, he would lose his luggage in transit - he still hasn’t seen the bags to this day)

EDIT: Beau will be seen in Tuesday’s episode, as the teams travelled to Cartagena in Colombia.

Tonight was ridiculous, a 10 minute time penalty for not completing a task and a 15 minute penalty for cheating and not completing a task properly was rubbish. Other teams got a 30 minute penalty in previous episodes for not completing a task. So much inconsistency in the Australian version.
