The Amazing Race Australia

and now hes in Melbourne on The Project.

I feel like this might rate well with people who really want to get back into traveling watching for ideas.

The production values have improved immensely this season.

Does help when you’re allowed to leave the country…

Well now it’s a joke. Someone couldn’t do a road block and the time penalty is 30mins. FFS!! It should be at least 4 hours like in the US version.

And also what’s happening with the other 10 alleged teams?? Or was that just nonsense?

They will be in tomorrow night’s episode

How many episodes do you think this season will have? I am thinking 21 episodes (17 eliminations + 3 non-elimination legs + grand final).

30-minute penalty for not taking the roadblock is pretty generous.

It’s really bad for the credibility of the show. You can just sit out a challenge and 30 mins is nothing. It needs to be a severe penalty to have any impact. Some roadblocks take hours as it is.

So they’re now ruining a perfectly good format for 10 obsession with running things on multiple nights.

10 is not the first version to do this. Israel did the same thing for their 4th season (they had 2 groups of 7 who were unaware of each other until the 2nd leg). Same thing here.

Dad And Daughter Unravel.

Paul And Rachel From Victoria. Eliminated From The Amazing Race Australia.

Setting off from Melbourne on the trip of a lifetime, 10 teams were on the run to duke it out for the biggest prize in The Amazing Race Australia history. With not only $250,000 up for grabs, the winning team would also get their hands on two brand new cars – an Isuzu D-Max and an Isuzu MU-X.

Ripping open the first envelope, teams soon realised they’d actually be leaving the country and landing in Morocco. Racing as soon as they touched down, teams were faced with a spice tasting challenge, with some sharing answers to get themselves ahead of the pack.

Next up was the Detour which saw folding laundry the far easier task than guessing the price of dates. A few teams where nearly hung out to dry before heading to their first Road Block.

Faced with becoming a stunt person who walked across hot coals, leapt through fire and burst through a brick wall, all while dressed as a mummy, some faced their fears while phobias became all too real for Rachel.

Opting to take a penalty and pause for half an hour, Paul and Rachel moved on to a difficult riddle, only to meet Beau on the mat in last place, sadly leaving The Race on the first leg.

Tomorrow night we meet 10 brand new teams racing from Sydney and making their way through the markets of Marrakesh, all none the wiser The Amazing Race Australia has already begun.

There have been celebrity editions of The Amazing Race before, mostly from the Chinese version.

I notice that 10 has posted behind the scenes videos and interviews with eliminated teams on its YouTube channel, not just on 10 play.

Some clever editing for the start of Sydney leg. When Beau greeted the teams at The Rocks it was rainy, but when the teams opened the envelope for their first clue it was partly cloudy with blue sky.

So was Beau greeting the teams & teams opening the envelope filmed on different parts of the same day?

Thank god the vegan warriors were eliminated. They were the worst.

As stated earlier, a 30 minute penalty isn’t enough of a deterrent. And I also assume the 30 minutes begins once everyone else has finished the challenge, because otherwise you’ll find people who’ve taken the penalty getting to the pit stop before teams that have done the challenge.

Vegan Warriors Wobble In Marrakesh.

Bren And Anja From Western Australia. Eliminated From The Amazing Race Australia.

The second set of teams were off and racing from Sydney in tonight’s episode of The Amazing Race Australia, none the wiser the race had already started.

Getting mucky in the Marrakesh rain, cabs were stolen and rivals were created as the loveable Vegan Warriors and their lack of direction missed their first clue.

With pots finally moved from one end of the market to the other, cups were counted and a restless night’s sleep had before an epic Roadblock to taste some extremely old preserved lemons.

But when it came to the next task of skinning goat hides in the traditional manner, animals lovers Bren and Anja realised The Race was harder on their morals than expected and they opted to take the penalty, which ultimately saw them arrive to the Pit Stop in last place and get eliminated from The Amazing Race Australia.

Tomorrow night the remaining 18 teams meet high on a hill in Morocco and discover the competition is going to be harder than first thought.

It’s late winter but I suddenly feel the urge to purchase a Kathmandu jacket after watching this show.

I am not sure who’s at fault - the producers or the vegan warriors? The team would have known that at some point during the race they would have to do a task involving animals, while the producers could have arranged a task demonstrating local traditions and suit everyone.

I think there’s a good reason for having so many teams this time around. There’s a lot of Covid around still, so they figured if teams had to drop out because they got sick and had to isolate, it wouldn’t be too bad.

On The Project, Beau mentioned that he actually had Covid during recording and implied that some teams may have dropped out for one reason or another. Having more teams is better than having Intruders as replacements, which was very unpopular last season.
