Good to see this show back on air. Brings back old 10 vibes.

Great to see them mixing in old favourites too.
I hope Kate Langbroek is back too eventually. She was hilarious on some older clips.

Perfect reboot, I agree.
One thing to note is that they no longer have the challenge around the town, not a big loss though.

Pretty great line-up next week as well. Very exciting for 10

The winner of each episode receives a trophy and the new Bachelor of Bullshit degree. Great idea.

Also nice to see cast and music credits at the end. Ben Lomas, who is the warm-up guy for the show, was only on Have You Been Paying Attention? a couple of weeks ago.

Todd is only contracted to Seven for Dancing with the Stars. At other times he is a freelance.

They’ve done a great job at keeping the show fresh if they will indeed have a bunch of guest stars scattered throughout the show.
Glenn Robbins as well as the guest judge.

So good to have TGYH back, used to be one of my favourite shows, especially the first couple of seasons, have the original DVD collection somewhere collecting dust, time for a re-watch. The car accident or whatever one was memorable, did that have a younger Hamish Blake? And yes great to see some of the support actors back, great work for them too. And can’t believe how similar everything still looks/feels despite a mammoth 14 years. Well done Working Dog, as always. Do miss Gleisner in one of his most memorable roles, was always good having an intentionally dead-pan almost straight critique after the shambles of some scenes, often the support actors questions were praised for the hilarious answers given by a guest star. Not sure about Celia, she’s top talent, guess some getting used to, Shane Bourne was always brilliant at steering the ship, the best bits were right before he ushered a star into a room and often a final quip/joke. Glad others here and online almost universal agremeent.

If you’re reading MS, big thumbs up 10 and WD, could be 2023’s ‘Masked Singer’ breakout hit, although not expecting those numbers, hopefully catch-up, OG fans and word of mouth growth.

That show was perfection. Great to have it back. Hopefully they iron out a few production issues and I think this may be mega for them. Especially if they slot in a few encores.

So what’s happening next week with the practical jokers show? Will it follow directly and bump five bedrooms to later?

I’m very happy with tonight’s episode, having TGYH back is really a welcomed addition, good on Working Dog and 10 for another great collaboration. The only criticism I have is Celia’s voice when she’s up and about, but hopefully this is lowered in post for future episodes.

Exactly.

Hmm. Good thing Lloyd’s on next week.

Any ideas when it was filmed? Have they done them all back to back or still filming?

I think tonight’s first episode was filmed in either late June or early July.

No earlier then late June given the submarine joke.

I’d say once a week. Celia was on Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie today and she mentioned that they were still filming the current season.

I’ve got mixed feelings on this reboot. Julia smashed it and Mark would be my second favourite but I feel like the contestants were a bit slow to warm up. Maybe if some of them return in future episodes they might be a little stronger but it all felt only slightly funny rather than laugh out loud like it used to.

I also really missed the during the week prefilmed sketch and banter with the guest judge. That used to be something fun during segment 5 to break it up. It feels weird coming back from the break just to reveal the winner.

Ultimately I will come back and watch again because of the nostalgia but it’s no where near as good as the old version.

It’s Episode 1 after a 14 year break. I reckon the contestants did very well.

It’ll take time for contestants to get familiar with the format. It’s not like you know what to expect after watching it on TV last year.

If you go back to the other episodes though all the way through there was contestants out of their element, but that’s why they’d book in a Julia or Hamish also for those episodes.
I mean anthony from the wiggles was funny because it was bad, Anh Doh always just laughed his way through.

I loved last night all of them killed it and a perfect way to start was with Aaron.

Seeing Julia and now Fifi for next week, it looks like we’re getting one from the original series each week.

Here’s hoping for Angus Sampson, Carl Barron and Hamish Blake to return.

I’d love to also see Tom and Pangy and Ed thrown in.
