Thank God You’re Here (2023)

This was one of the best episodes this year. Absolutely hilarious cast. All brilliant.

Next week includes “newbie” Anisa Nandaula and Shane Jacobson as guest judge.

Surprised to see Pang back again, hopefully he’s a bit more relaxed this time around having already done it once.

In her individual scene, Bron Lewis did a break dance and a kangaroo skip a la Raygun at the Paris Olympics, while bagpipes were being played in the background. I wonder if this episode was filmed in August, after the Games ended.

It would have been filmed around the time Felicity Ward was in Australia (she lives in London) and she also appeared on HYBPA which would have obviously been filmed close to broadcast

Sam, Hamish, Urzila, Anisa and Guy, Thank God You’re Here.

Season Finale: Wednesday, 16 October At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play.

Next week on Thank God You’re Here, we’re opening the big blue door for the last time this season.

But don’t get too upset, because this season finale is a doozy. Next Wednesday, not four but five performers will partake in the pandemonium: Sam Pang, Hamish Blake, Urzila Carlson, Anisa Nandaula, and Guy Montgomery.

Celia Pacquola continues as our host extraordinaire, and we’ve pulled out the big guns with a guest judge who can only be described as a titan of comedy.

Ready to riot and soak up the hilarity of fast-talking funny people? Then 10 is the only place to be next Wednesday.

Sorry, Sam’s still not vibing in this show. He’s great on a panel show but he’s so stilted on TGYH.

Would’ve been better if they got Kitty Flanagan back for the final. Or even Glenn Robbins. Perhaps they could invite Tom Gleeson on the show once.

So 5 because it’s finale? Did they do this last season? I can’t remember

Working Dog spared no expenses for the season finale. The stair lift in Guy’s scene would have cost thousands of dollars. And they recruited a real Auslan interpreter Jodi for the group challenge.

Nope - only 4 guests at the end of last year (Kitty, Marty, Emma, and Guy)

Some surprise overacting tonight from

I think Sam was a bit better tonight but no way should he have won. I think Shane was a pretty weak guest judge. I think the studio audience should vote during the break for the winner and the guest judge should just announce that. I know it’s all fun and games but when Sam won, I was like what? Surely Guy or Hamish were better

Actually, studio audience voting is what I wondered about a few weeks ago. Ready Steady Cook style with cut outs of their heads lol. Do away with the judge entirely maybe. They seem to be too hit and miss. I quite enjoyed Magda last week though

Utter crap that Sam won.

The sets this year have been next level

Definitely. The set designers, builders and props buyers deserve extra praise, especially since each set is only used once.

Agreed. Shame the scenarios have no imagination. Same old story each week. Olden day scene, king or queen scene, tv show scene and tv news scene. Rinse and repeat. Boring.

he wasn’t my preferred pick either. I would have ranked Hamish or Guy ahead of him.

Probably using the Masked Singer budget
