Tennis story with plenty of puns from headline writers. Un-bee-leivable.

It would be very distracting for the players

It would also bee a stinging surprise… :joy:

The four Grand Slam tournaments - Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open - are now pushing for a format called Premier Tour, to replace the drawn out ATP and WTA Tours.

The tour would be reduced to 10 large events with 96-player draws for both men and women alongside the four majors, a year‑end final and a team event. Around 100 players would qualify each year, with lesser players competing on a separate developmental tour and being eligible to reach the Premier Tour come the end of the year.

WTA confirmed last Thursday that the WTA Finals will be held in Riyadh in a three-year deal starting in 2024.

I do enjoy my tennis all year round. Masters 1000, Grand Slams, selected ATP/250 events are the ones I watch plus some WTA tours.

Very sad news. A career sadly ruined by injuries, much like what happened to Juan Martin del Potro after he won the US Open in 2009.

World number one Djokovic was left crouched on the ground in pain as the bottle hit him on the back of the head as he was signing autographs for fans while he exited the centre court at the Foro Italico.

In a video of the incident first published by Italian media it was not clear whether the hard reusable bottle was launched deliberately from the stands or fell accidentally onto Djokovic’s head.

The Serbian superstar thanked fans for their concern in a post on X on Saturday, while reassuring everyone that he is fine and he accepts the incident was an accident.

How was it a “disgusting act”, Newscorp? It was clearly an accident. In the second part of the clip, we csn see it slid out of the fans back pack when he reached down.

A second video shows the water bottle falling from someones unzipped backpack, as they were bending over to get an autograph. A simple accident.

Would have hurt nonetheless.

That’s a shame,he was a great player sometimes before injuries ruined his tennis career

The Italian tax authorities are currently searching for Giorgi, as she owes them tax. WTA have attempted to contact Camila and her family, but everyone’s phones have been switched off. Very weird.

Close to retirement

  • Rafael Nadal was beaten in the first round of the French Open in straight sets by fourth seed Alexander Zverev.
  • Nadal, has said he will likely retire after 2024 but has not 100 per cent ruled out a return to Roland Garros.
  • Nadal has confirmed he will not play Wimbledon in July, but is interested in playing the Paris Olympics if possible.

I like hearing that French umpire with the really deep voice,he sounds like Barry White

The umpire is definitely the best part of the French open.

A showdown with Zverev awaits (who’s been in form since taking Gold at the Tokyo Olympics but keeps finding difficulty closing out a Gland Slam)
