But in the capital citys, it’s always been just ‘10’.
Hasn’t always been like that. But what’s your point exactly?
That WIN are free to use “10 Gold Coast” because Ten themselves both don’t have a separate Gold Coast feed, but also don’t put the city name in their station labels anyway, so they wouldn’t need to use "WIN10 Gold Coast’ or something like NBN do to disambiguate from the main network station.
WIN Network sponsor billboards now stick out like a sore thumb with all the 10 branding and how good it looks compared to Mappy.
Since the affiliate swap in other markets this has been the LCNs on NRN New England with bugger all reference to the WIN Network at all

What a mess this broadcast area is
It was much better when Daylight savings shifted the regionals programming forward one hour. Now it’s a mess.
Prime and their airing of “Pulp Fiction” at 8pm put a stop to that.

Yes, if they could still do this, it would almost seem worth it to have so many duplicate channels
While I was in Port Macquarie, I noticed that WIN’s dirty feed of 10 have the tail end of Sydney’s commercials before playing their own.

That is fairly common on dirty feeds. Almost a kind of subliminal advertising in a way.
It shouldnt happen they should fix the timings it looks dreadful. I assume SCA get a clean feed why can’t WIN?
I don’t think SCA got a clean feed either.

I assume SCA get a clean feed why can’t WIN?
Why? SCA clearly doesn’t use a clean feed. Both WIN and SCA don’t want to control promos, watermarks or anything on-air except advertising and news. Using a clean feed would require more labour and defeat the purpose of ditching their on-air identities.
Honestly, I don’t think it’s fairly common for split-seconds of metro advertising to leak through. MHA has been pretty good at timing breaks from my X years watching their channels. It still happens, but it’s usually rectified rather quickly.

That sort of thing was commonplace 20-30 years ago when aggregation was still in its infancy, but you’d hope it’s been largely eradicated by now.

Trust me - here in Newcastle it is VERY common!!
And given that WIN 10 Northern NSW is about 6 seconds behind 10 Sydney, you’d think they would be able to time it better.
Having said that, I’d imagine the timing of ads in WINs playout is wholly automated, so whether it’s 6 seconds behind or whatever is probably irrelevant in that context.
If the feed was clean to some extent for example a black screen is shown on the feed that WIN take when the ads are on instead of Sydney ads could be one option with the same watermarks etc that are shown in Sydney. I would not have thought that would be very difficult for Ten to supply.
