Ten (WIN)

I spoke too soon. WIN northern NSW is still airing the noodle news updates. Please refer to WIN northern NSW Facebook page

10 Peach Comedy and 10 Bold Drama are now in HD in Northern NSW and with the new names on the EPG as 10 comedy and 10 drama.

Why are they lowercase… c’mon 10

While we are at it, will 10 add Nickelodeon into NNSW?

It would make sense for Ten to do a straight switch Gold for Nick on 1 July - don’t think they’ve announced this yet. Presumably Ten’s newly acquired Hobart operation will take on the noodle updates so that they would be producing for all four east coast aggregated markets.

I don’t imagine we’ll see any changes until control is moved out of WIN’s MediaHub to join the rest of 10 Regional at NPC.

For the time being, it looks to be business as usual with WIN managing playout and control on 10’s behalf.

Remember, it took 4 months for full operations to be transferred from SCA to WIN when the station was last sold.

I would have thought the same thing with channel name changes and HD upgrades. Launching Nick early doesn’t seem so out of the question now. But I doubt it will.

I haven’t checked WDT, but I wonder if the other WIN 10 multi’s were changed too?

Best to keep NRN markets through MHA for now. No doubt TEN would be working on a long-term solution to fold their metro and regional playout into some kind of one solution for all they do playout wise including their linear FAST streams. The trend is to move it all into the cloud now to cut costs even further, which is what TEN may well be looking at. My understanding is that Nickelodeon playout has been in the cloud since day 1 when that channel launched as 10Shake.

Any news on whether there will be a new Sky News/10 agreement?

Any idea on when Gold will disappear from northern NSW screens on 10?

Shouldn’t this thread be closed? 10 now owns NNSW, they only have WIN running operations in the short term.

Probably - the SCA News and Seven (SCA) threads were closed on July 1, though there is still WIN 10 in the Riverland and South East SA, and Griffith, but even then any discussion could probably take place in the main WIN thread.

The WIN7/WIN10 discussions have historically been discussed in the main WIN channel thread (and or WIN Corp thread) so makes sense to roll new Ten NNSW discussion into the relevant thread
