SURF LIFE SAVING AUSTRALIA CONFIRMS NETWORK 10 AS BROADCAST PARTNER FOR BUMPER SEASON OF SPORT

Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) is proud to announce Network 10 as the official home of the upcoming season of surf sport.

The packed schedule will feature live coverage of all upcoming rounds of the Shaw and Partners Iron Series from Newcastle, Maroubra and Miami Beach, along with the final weekend of the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships in March.

Excitingly, the agreement will also see a highlights package from the 2026 SHARKSKIN Australian IRB Championships set to air, ensuring the high-octane competition will be showcased on free-to-air TV.

Already home to the CommBank Socceroos, the CommBank Matildas, A-Leagues and the NBL, Network 10’s commitment to home-grown Australian sport, and the communities that support it, now sees its reach extending to surf lifesaving’s 200,000 strong membership base.

Viewers can expect to see a wide range of disciplines as well as some of Australia’s fittest and fastest athletes competing, with the versatility and excitement of surf sport offering something for all fans.

Viewers will be able to watch the first round of the Shaw and Partners Iron Series, LIVE on 10 Drama and 10 Streaming, when the opening round of competition hits Newcastle Beach next month.

I think the series opener is on 10 Drama due to the main channel’s commitment to advertorials.

Almost a return to the old days of the Uncle Toby’s series that 10 were famous for. I doubt this will get the level of coverage and promotion. It would be an outsourced production with very little, if any, 10 sport branding (graphics/mic socks/10 staff).

But nonetheless, this is what 10 should be doing. Picking up live coverage of small sports and just flooding their Saturdays and sundays with live sport of any kind to show the bigger sports there’s a commitment and an appetite for this stuff and that they are back to building that sporting profile.

Confirmed the first UFC P+ event - at least part of it anyway - will be broadcast on linear television.

It isn’t specified that the main channel is to be used. We’ll see on Jan 11.
