Surely if Eddie goes to 10 he would be doing more than just Melbourne Cup, what a waste that would be.
The way this is being reported is that he would be doing this as a freelancer given his work with 9 as well as his extensive work running JamTV
He is a freelancer, he will do whatever work he wants to.
It’s the gig economy baby!
beats Uber Eats
I’d be more surprised if they said they didnt support it TBF
Racing Victoria announced a revamp of the final day of Melbourne Cup Carnival this morning, among several changes to the 2022-23 racing season. Stakes Day will now be known as VRC Champion Stakes Day with total prizemoney increasing to $10 million. The Cantala Stakes will move back to the last day of the Cup carnival, be renamed the Kennedy Champions Mile and now be worth a cool $3 million. The Mackinnon Stakes will be renamed the VRC Champions Stakes and also have $3 million prizemoney, same amount as the Group 1 Champions Sprint.
Stakes Day falls on Saturday, November 5 this year and will be shown live on 10.
What was the Paramount+ day?
Fairly sure that was The Mackinnon Stakes day.
A 10 spokesperson told Herald Sun that the network would like to congratulate Francesca on the birth of Teddy, and confirmed she would not be part of 10’s coverage of Melbourne Cup Carnival this year.

Eddie McGuire Joins 10’s Melbourne Cup Carnival Coverage.
Network 10 today announced its stellar stable of talent headlining the 2022 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Joining the 2022 racing team is renowned sports personality Eddie McGuire, who brings decades of experience to the broadcast.
Taking the reins in the mounting yard is racing expert Michael Felgate who will be joined trackside by trainer and Lexus Melbourne Cup winning jockey, Michelle Payne.
Brittany Taylor’s extensive racing knowledge will be on show as she delivers all the insights as horseback reporter for the Carnival returning after two years from afar, while 10 News First sports reporter Caty Price will take viewers to the inner sanctum as stalls reporter.
The audience at home won’t miss a thing with 10 Sport’s Archie Thompson trackside with all the excitement and the colour of the Cup Carnival.
Also returning and adding to the racing team credentials is renowned form expert David Gately and Group 1 winning jockey James Winks.
With a multi-studio set-up across Flemington Racecourse, fans will have unprecedented access to jockeys, trainers, owners, celebrities and of course all the fashions on the field over the four days of the Carnival.
Eddie McGuire said: “I’m excited to return to 10 where I started my career all those years ago, coming onboard as part of the fantastic Melbourne Cup Carnival team. Racing has always been a passion of mine and I can’t wait for this year’s Carnival – it’s an honour in conjunction with VRC and 10 to bring the joy, fun, history and glamour of this world event back to new heights post COVID.”
Adam Cush, Director of Sport Production at Paramount Australia and New Zealand, said: “It’s a coup to have someone with Eddie’s experience join the team and bring his extensive sports broadcasting skills to the Carnival coverage. We’ve assembled a fantastic team once again to bring all the excitement and action to viewers around the country.”
Neil Wilson, Victoria Racing Club Chairman said: “The Victoria Racing Club is delighted to welcome Eddie McGuire as the host of Network 10’s Melbourne Cup Carnival coverage. Eddie is an incredible talent who is passionate about sport and major events across the country. Eddie has been a regular attendee at the Melbourne Cup Carnival and his involvement will no doubt continue to increase the coverage of Cup week in Australia and internationally.
“Eddie will work with a fantastic team, including Michael Felgate, Caty Price, Brittany Taylor and Lexus Melbourne Cup winning jockey, Michelle Payne. Their expertise and experience is going to make for a magnificent Cup Week broadcast.”
It all begins with Penfolds Victoria Derby Day on Saturday, 29 October, followed by Lexus Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday, 1 November, Kennedy Oaks Day on Thursday, 3 November and VRC Champions Stakes Day on Saturday, 5 November, live and free on 10 and 10 Play.
Stayed tuned for more exciting announcements to come.
It’ll be quite something on both Melbourne Cup Day & Oaks Day for viewers to be able to go from watching Eddie McGuire presenting the Melbourne Cup Carnival on 10 to watching Eddie McGuire present Hot Seat on Nine.
I don’t know how MediaSpy comes up with these sorts of things. For the small amount viewers who do go from watching him on one channel to the next, I doubt they will think a single thing of it.
An Australian professional sporting first will take place on Christmas Day this year when Sydney plays Melbourne at Qudos Bank Arena.
The historic meeting between two of the League’s biggest clubs is locked in for the 2022/23 Hungry Jack’s NBL season and pits the defending champion Kings against their bitter rivals, United, in prime time Sunday night at 7:30pm.
“We are thrilled to be bringing such a massive encounter to Christmas Day, particularly given we will be the first professional sport in this country to do so,” NBL Commissioner Jeremy Loeliger said.
“Sports fans across Australia and New Zealand have been asking for live sport on Christmas and we are excited to bring them world-class basketball and entertainment on what is a very special day for so many.
“Christmas Day has become a marquee day on the NBA calendar and we’re confident it will have a similar impact for us and our clubs.
“The Kings have been very proactive in wanting to host the first Christmas Day game and we’re confident they’ll do a great job.”
Sydney Co-Owner and Chairman Paul Smith called the event a “game changer” for Australian sport.
“It’s the last scheduling frontier in sport in Australia,” Smith said.
“We are a changing society. Christmas isn’t a holy event for all of us, and it can be a lonely day for a lot of people.
“So, to be able to come out to a world-class venue for a world-class game of hoops, or just watching the Sydney Kings at home on television, it’s a game changer.”
The Adelaide 36ers will also get into the Christmas spirit when they host the South East Melbourne Phoenix on Christmas Eve at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
“This is a great reward for our members and fans. The earlier start time is fantastic for families, and I can see this match becoming an annual event,” 36ers CEO Nic Barbato said.
The full 2022/23 Hungry Jack’s NBL schedule will be released on Monday, July 25.
The Christmas Eve game between Adelaide and South East Melbourne will tip-off at 5:30pm AEDT at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre live on ESPN.
The Christmas Day game between Sydney and Melbourne will tip-off at 7:30pm AEDT at Qudos Bank Arena live on 10 Peach and ESPN
Dont know how I feel about this - is a day without live sport that much of an issue?
I dont know how i feel about it either. Surely the NBL can hype up the games on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, NYE, New Years Day etc… without the game being played on Christmas Day.
At least we have a primetime schedule for 10Peach on Christmas Night this year - and is not a Big Bang Theory marathon like on the other 364 days of the year…
It’s not but I also feel it’s worth a go.
