it would have been a perfect lead in to 10 News First.
For want or another sport Sundayâs on the main channel would be good unless theyâre chasing the NRL. The other factor is that perhaps the informercial style paid for cooking shows are making them money on Sundayâs.
now that would be good.
Here is one on The Project.
I still think itâs highly unlikely 9 will lose the rights but stranger things have happened
Hopefully it doesnât turn out like that deal, 10 (or One HD) were supposed to broadcast 5 games a week by the end of that deal, the first year was good with a couple games a week live (or close to) on One HD. Year 2 One HD stopped being a sports only channel and showed 3 games at starting at 10:30pm at best, even later if there was F1 or MotoGP on. Year 3 onwards they negotiated a deal for a 2:30pm Sunday game on Ten and a 9:30pm Friday game on One (which featured a lot of Perth games), never live into Perth/Adelaide.
But isnât NBL summer and NRL winter?
As much as the NRL needs to ditch Nine in favour of a new FTA broadcaster, I agree.
There is overlap I think
Few months of an overlap.
If that is the case they are leaving room it seems for NRL on Sundays! Hopefully the rumours are true and NRL is coming to 10. We should know soon hopefully!
It would be interesting to see what would happen with 10 News First in such a scenario. The Sunday afternoon games kick off at 4pm, so the news may have to be pushed back to 6pm and it would be competing with Seven/Nine.
10 could ask them to start at 2.45pm.
Normally the NBL season runs the week after the AFL/NRL Grand Finals until mid March, so maybe a week or 2 of overlap with the NRL when 10 have less rights in the playoffs, then Covid happened and last season went January-June.
That might not be possible if Fox Sports continues to hold the exclusive rights to the earlier Sunday afternoon match.
I would say they might request for games to be slightly earlier or they broadcast the 2pm match?
Could they swap?
It probably wouldnât be possible since a contract has already been signed with Fox Sports, to my understanding.
Good to see 10 promoting the NBL already
They also had a story during the main part of the bulletin last night about W-League, so good to see some promotion for that too.
