I saw this on ONE during Undercover Boss… it’s about time they started advertising something besides Celebrity and Xfiles.
That’s great. Its a pity these shows aren’t apparently airing until May. Ten really don’t have a lot to promote for the first quarter. They really only do have The X File and I’m a Celebrity. They should, however, be airing some promos for Family Feud All Stars, Long Lost Family, Gold Coast Cops and any other shows they will be showing at the completion of I’m a Celeb.
Also understand what people are saying about American Crime Story, it isn’t on Fox and is on a cable channel. But I can see this one being of similar popularity as Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. I feel the promotional videos are fantastic and its got something about it. It might not rate through the roof in Australia but given the right promotional push, or at least some, I could see it rating very decently. At the moment it doesn’t stand much chance at all as The Big Bash is almost over and there won’t be much more room to promote it once that is finished.
If they are planning on airing it aren’t they better off giving it a chance to succeed? And not just fall flat on its face?
Another 2016 on TEN promo just aired during Studio 10 this morning featuring I’m a Celeb, Bachelor, Bachelorette, X-Files, Spelling Bee, Offspring, Brock & Masterchef.
Was surprised it didn’t make mention of Shark Tank or The Wrong Girl though.
Yeah I’m seriously worried about Shark Tank this year. They’ve given it just about 0 promotion and I think it might just flop from day 1.
It rated really well last year at the beginning of its run but it started to decline after a while, especially following 2 week breaks that left viewers confused. They need to keep promoting it if they want it to survive.
The problem last year was the constantly changing timeslot on Sundays. It went from 8:30 to 9:00 back to 8pm when Celeb finished up. Consistent sheduling and promotion should be a priority cause it’s a ripper of a show… Can’t wait for season 2!
They are airing promos for Long Lost Family but not as much as The X Files and I’m A Celebrity. Umm Gold Coast Cops? Is canned, so I am not sure where you got that info from as Territory Cops will air instead.

Shark Tank isn’t even scheduled to air in February, as it has a new place in the year. Sometimes I think some don’t have any idea what is going on. You are basically saying why not give Shark Tank a promotional push now when it doesn’t even air this quarter. And if you air promos now, you are basically saying to viewers ‘it was nice seeing you’. It rated well actually
According to TEN’s Upfronts back in Novemeber, Shark Tank isn’t scheduled to air until the 2nd quarter so anywhere between May/June/July - I wouldn’t be worried that they haven’t aired any promos yet given its at least 5 months away, I was just surprised it wasn’t included in that promo when every other returning show was. Possibly it was just omitted.
Regarding Lost Lost Family, again according to the Upfronts it’s scheduled to air in this first quarter so Feb/March/April but apart from an updated casting promo with Chrissie in it I haven’t seen any promos yet? One would assume they might still be filming.

I haven’t seen one ad for Long Lost Family, any chance of you putting it in here? I didn’t realise Gold Coast Cops was canceled. I’m sure it will still surface after I’m a Celeb. But yes if Territory Cops is airing perhaps they should start promoting that.
I do think people have an idea what is going on. I think people are suggesting while the viewers are on ten let them know what is coming back. They are letting viewers know Gogglebox is coming back, why can’t they let them know Shark Tank will air?

I am pretty sure you would’ve seen the promo it features Chrissie Swan in it. Territory Cops did well with little promotion off the back off Gold Coas Cops in 2014.
Ten already have by saying Shark Tank will air in Q2, just like Gogglebox through their Upfronts

I think they should air promos or at least feature it prominently in those “2016” promos to inform viewers of it’s return this year and to let them know that the show isn’t dead like many believe. I think it’s really important airing it now during the Big Bash so at least the promos get a few eyeballs on them. Part of the show’s success in 2015 was a marketing blitz- Ads constantly on TV, Radio, Billboards, busses etc. I doubt Ten will go that far again for its second season so good on-air promotion is required.[quote=“William_C, post:26, topic:333”]

It did for several episodes towards the beginning of the season. Look at the figures later in the series; They declined on several nights to the mid 500,000 mark which is a lot lower than where they had been holding.

No i haven’t seen the promos. I love chrissy swan so it’s something i would notice and i have watched majority of the big bash games.
No ten have actually aired a promo about gogglebox, as you mentioned a few posts before. They haven’t done the same for shark tank which is a bit disappointing. Not sure about you but i loved shark tank so i hope ten give it enough exposure so it gets the figures it deserves. They didn’t treat it too kindly last year and it luckily survived and did pretty well.

What a great network promo by Ten, not that just, but also the seperate US (NCIS, etc) & Comedy (Modern Family, Gogglebox, HYBPA, etc) ones too

That wasnt a ten promo it was a FX promo. Ten haven’t aired any promos for American Crime Story. As for their promos in general they have been repetitive and far off their best efforts from 5 or so years ago.

Still could provide a bit of hype and bring some old viewers back to see how they write out the character.
I really hope for tens sake that I’m a Celebrity and X Files fire big time. I would be thinking Celebrity needs at least 900k and X Files over a million to even pass in my eyes. With it being tens best summer and the amount of promotion for those two shows I think anything less would be considered a failure. And if they don’t fire I would expect a very long year.
I am still baffled why ten haven’t done any other promotions for shows other than these two.
