No, itâs not. Theyâve just admitted itâs a flop. Just axe it.
They could extend Deal to Sundays. Why not? They run repeat episodes in the afternoon. Just move them to prime time.

I hope theyâre changing a lot more than just shortening it to 30 minutes.
Theyâre a bit delusional if they think the only reason people arenât watching any of it is because it goes for an hour!
Are we able to get ratings data broken into the half hour slots? Maybe the first half is rating ok but people switch off around 6:30pm? Really seems unlikely though.

This canât be the only change. It needs to go. I know the local newsrooms are overworked, but surely the local news at 6pm rated better than this.

This is probably 10âs last ditch bid to salvage News+. If (when?) that fails I suspect itâll be axed, probably by mid-2026. Back to 5-6.30 local news by next Christmas!

In other words, people switch on around 6:30pm.

I still feel like it needs a dual header for the banter because itâs not meant to be a full on news bulletin, itâs meant to be different from the news that just came before. Not that Denham and Amelia do a good job of banter anyway LOL 
A simple solution would have been to switch this and the Afternoon News around but start News+ at 3pm as an afternoon edition like Nine News Now was.
10 could try a mix of Celebrity Deal, Celebrity Hot Seat and new episodes of Wheel at 6:30 Saturdays and Sundays.
A 1 hour weekly current affairs show could use the original News+ formula

Surely Georgie would be ideal for this especially in a lighter form, with someone like Hamish or even a comic/presenter and doing more of a show like The One Show with lighter fair and more stories that are less hard news.
