Ten News +

The Sunday Telegraph’s High Steaks column today has an interview with Amelia (paywall).

Amelia on Sam Pang’s opening monologue which mentioned 10 News+

“I think so,” she says. “I did find it funny. It would be different if it was a very serious night and just one person was getting made fun of. But the whole thing is about kind of taking the piss. So you can’t be precious when they’re taking the piss out of you.”

Brace yourself for an impact

“I’m okay with it because I am proud of the product we put to air.
But we’re putting out a good product. People who actually watch it say that.

Good on her for defending it but she can’t honestly think that’s true?

This part was cute though (and a reminder of how bad Australian hospitality can be compared to US or UK service):

As our lunch winds up, she asks if she can take some steak for Hitchcock but we learn the restaurant doesn’t do doggy bags.

Quite a few audio issues tonight.

Appears 10 are maybe helping fund some of that young pilots trip, there’s a big 10 logo on the tail of the plane - hence why they probably get the exclusive talking to him.

So that’s what all the cost-cutting at 10 is for
In all seriousness, good on 10 for doing that. Nice gesture there.

The Australian continues its 10 News+ saga

With Ten’s diabolically bad new current affairs show plummeting to unknown depths for a multimillion-dollar prime-time news offering, the network has been keen to go on a publicity offensive — only for their approach to prove just as baffling as their new program.

they rushed to tell us they wouldn’t be making any major changes off the back of the research and that “the network is committed to 10 News+, the presenters and the whole team”

Ten’s thrown a bunch of buzzwords at us and explained network boss Beverley McGarvey’s ailing new program was a “multi-platform news service” and she was taking a “multi-platform view of audience development” and “prepared for gradual growth as audiences discover and connect with our unique approach to news delivery across many platforms.”

i guess it gives them something else to froth about rather than the ABC and The Project (RIP)

Then they proceed to quote linear only figures with no insight into multi platform engagement. The whole media diary section is an abject disaster.

Well Beverley is quoting buzzwords and this show is hardly leading a digital revolution.

“multi-platform news service” for 10News+? Odd they talked about that in the article.

Especially when we never see 10’s Late News figures for when it aired on 10play or youtube (i forgot which one it was), before airing later on the main channel… If that’s still the case?

It’s on both 10 streaming and YouTube.

10 just keeps persisting. I think this is becoming clear that 10 don’t have a plan B and local management in Australia cannot make a decision without Paramount approval.

What did the Project rate on Sundays - wasn’t it similar or maybe a little higher but costly?

I think higher cause they had international and local artists on the show

It was higher. If you use the searvh bar above youll see it.

It did cost more, but the benefit…they got to promote their other shows to more eyeballs. Now theyve lost 100k-200k eyeballs each day thay cant promote to

Almost double. I think it was averaging between 280-320k on Sundays.

Now we are hovering around the 140k
