Not a bad report. Much more nuanced reporting that would find in the Australian each week. I really do hate how they keep going to that Steve Allen for any form of analysis. He’s invariably always wrong.

Yeah it seems all of these industry “insider” blogs were wrong, just as bad as the Daily Mail and Australian publishing whatever rumour they think will get them the most clicks.
Seems like some of that has been written before especially the sections about past ‘flops’ that recovered. Some seems very familiar and not very relevant.
As well, all the ratings mentioned for the other programs are metro ratings while for 10 News+ they used national. Even if HYBPA did debut low etc it eventually found success but in a completely different timeslot. Plus the example of The Cheap Seats while true for episode 3 it was up against the Tokyo Olympics.
Hey good on them if they are going to stick with it but Ten’s reputation still precedes them and it feels like a football coach having the backing of the board.

And no doubt comparing to weekly shows that can be moved around following a big reality show to maximise exposure isnt really a like for like comparrison to a show thats going to be 6 nights a week in an unmovaeable timeslot

I feel if the Project at 6-7pm was on, it would rate the same. So the positives here are that 10NEWS+ can be a national news program that can adapt at any time and be neutral, while the other positive is DOND picking up the 7PM slot.
It’s a tough ask for any program to kick off at 6PM, 10 just need to persist and tweak this program. The set however does make it seem like a dark and heavy program, why couldn’t they go for a fresh and bright studio?

That was the best part about showing The Simpsons at 6, it’s cheap to run and keeps 10’s audience happy.
