Hamish Macdonald on the northern rivers tonight doing a live cross for the Sydney bulletin. Will probably do coverage for the project.
He’s very good at this sort of stuff so they need to utilize him more on the news rather than just the project.

Monday 28 February -
Candice Wyatt is presenting in Melbourne and Adelaide.
He’s not employed by 10 News though, so so long as their goals are mutually beneficial (sending him away for coverage) they’ll both use him.
Tuesday 1 March -
Jennifer Keyte is back presenting in Melbourne and Adelaide tonight.
Another experience reporter gone from 10.
I found out yesterday that Antoinette is joining The Briefing podcast, but did not expect her to quit 10 for this role. Jan Fran is also part of the podcast but she still has time to be at the desk on The Project each week.
Antoinette outlined the other reasons she’s leaving above. She also has her commitments to Media Diversity.
She had been on extended leave from the network anyway, it may create another opportunity for an up-and-coming journalist to join 10 in Sydney.
Clearly shows there is no progression for staff to progress at the network.
There’s only three presenting roles at the network in news and one is taken by a freelancer.
Doesn’t need to be a presenting role.
What else is there? A low watched news cast in the late afternoon and nothing else except The Project which doesn’t utilise journalists that often.
I mean… working for other networks, there are more far more opportunities to progress within. Unfortunately for 10, it’s very limited to evolve.
She’s moving on to join a podcast and other opportunities outside of broadcast journalism it seems, if she was leaving to join another network in a like for like role I’d understand the point about no progression for her there.
She hadn’t really been working on-air regularly for some time and people move on, it happens.
Steve Hart on the desk tonight doing Sydney sport.
spending an 8/9/10/11 hour day reporting, and popping onto The Project desk, are fairly different gigs.
Monday (07.03.2022):
Tuesday (08.03.2022):
Scott Mackinnon did Sydney and Brisbane sport.
Wednesday (09.03.2022):
Jelisa Apps is presenting sport and Paris Martin is on weather in Sydney and Brisbane.
Thursday (10.03.2022) - Friday (11.03.2022):
Amanda Jason is presenting the weather in Sydney and Brisbane. Jelisa Apps is still doing sport.
Live and local weather for Perth.
A shame that they have to make a post about having live and local weather.
Ursula Heger has now made her way into Ukraine and reporting from Lviv. There was also a live cross. She’s been doing a good job the past week telling some compelling stories of the refugee crisis out of Poland.
