And Bec Morse
Some poor attempt to make a point that his departure has somehow resulted in the bulletin losing a bunch of viewers, incredibly short sighted and spiteful considering he landed on his feet with another job.
And to tag Rob as if to prove that it’s not a great result, what’s that about? He’s overestimating his popularity with a few twitter replies and some industry support, the bulletin is bigger that one person.
Nothing to see here.
If the ratings of 10 News First have fallen in the past few weeks, it’s probably because of the rather clunky transitions between segments more than Tim Bailey’s departure from the weather.
His style might’ve been great on breakfast TV in the 1990s, but I think most Sydney TV viewers in 2020 would overwhelmingly prefer a forecast which is straight and to the point. Weather presentation technology has advanced so much in the last 20-25 years (what with all the animated graphics and CGI renditions of what tomorrow in the city is expected to be like, etc.) that tacky gimmicks like Tim Bailey’s are no longer really needed to capture the attention of viewers.
I think because Rob did an article about the ratings recently- where Brisbane and Adelaide were down ~30% YOY but Sydney (and the others) was up. Bailey’s tweet also is not really a fair comparison as 10’s figure is at 5pm and an hour.
Sure, but doesn’t that him look like more of a bitter idiot as it goes against credibly analyzed ratings information provided in Rob’s story?
He’s trying to compare one nights ratings for programs which air in different timeslots and trying to present it as shocking or new information, 10’s commercial competitors in Sydney have rated far higher than them for a long time - nothing new.
Also noticed he’s changed his handle again to say @dailybaileylive rather than NINE which he changed it to after being let go by 10.
He should learn some humility and bow out gracefully while he’s ahead, it’s not a good look.
Worth noting that
There seems to be a lot of love for Bailey at Nine for some reason. Makes you wonder if they might use him on their 6pm bulletin over summer.
Surely he’d be better off filling in for Tim on weather on Today.

She works at 10. I highly doubt it.
