Friday 2 October-
Must have been sick. I was hoping he was making the move down to Sydney so he actually be in the studio instead of the horrendous green screen.
To stand in front of the Sydney screen?
The weather wall is much more sophisticated than a green screen and it would unify the look with the set.
Death in the family I think.
Someone’s a bit sour.
It’s not like his departure was the main reason the bulletin is rating lower so I don’t get his point.
He’ll be using the green screen during non daylight saving in Sydney - exactly the same as Charlotte and Amanda the past two days.
Reminder: This is the same person who while at Ten, slammed Nine News Sydney on numerous occasions.
He clearly hasn’t bowed out gracefully. He’s very bitter and vengeful. It’s a shame he was dumped in those circumstances but at least have a bit of class.
Oh really? Why wouldn’t they use the weather wall? They do it on the weekends. Seems like a waste to it at least make everything look the best it can.
Pathetic and quite the dig at those remaining, especially the woman who he constantly spruced he was close to, who happens to present the bulletin.
Bailey should look at how the likes of Georgina Lewis, Melissa Doyle and Natarsha Belling have handled themselves in exactly the same situation. All have expressed their disappointment but done so with grace and shown gratitude for the opportunities afforded to them by their respective networks.
Since he left, the ratings haven’t changed though?
I’m not too sure what he’s on about?
And Bec Morse
Some poor attempt to make a point that his departure has somehow resulted in the bulletin losing a bunch of viewers, incredibly short sighted and spiteful considering he landed on his feet with another job.
And to tag Rob as if to prove that it’s not a great result, what’s that about? He’s overestimating his popularity with a few twitter replies and some industry support, the bulletin is bigger that one person.
Nothing to see here.
If the ratings of 10 News First have fallen in the past few weeks, it’s probably because of the rather clunky transitions between segments more than Tim Bailey’s departure from the weather.
His style might’ve been great on breakfast TV in the 1990s, but I think most Sydney TV viewers in 2020 would overwhelmingly prefer a forecast which is straight and to the point. Weather presentation technology has advanced so much in the last 20-25 years (what with all the animated graphics and CGI renditions of what tomorrow in the city is expected to be like, etc.) that tacky gimmicks like Tim Bailey’s are no longer really needed to capture the attention of viewers.
I think because Rob did an article about the ratings recently- where Brisbane and Adelaide were down ~30% YOY but Sydney (and the others) was up. Bailey’s tweet also is not really a fair comparison as 10’s figure is at 5pm and an hour.
Sure, but doesn’t that him look like more of a bitter idiot as it goes against credibly analyzed ratings information provided in Rob’s story?
He’s trying to compare one nights ratings for programs which air in different timeslots and trying to present it as shocking or new information, 10’s commercial competitors in Sydney have rated far higher than them for a long time - nothing new.
Also noticed he’s changed his handle again to say @dailybaileylive rather than NINE which he changed it to after being let go by 10.
He should learn some humility and bow out gracefully while he’s ahead, it’s not a good look.
Worth noting that
