What’s the alternative? Send up their own expensive helicopter to get exactly the same footage. Most people watching don’t care where the footage has come from (or even notice).

Sandra & Stephen were probably absent, because head of news flew them to HQ to sign new contracts, on the promise “you"ll be TV stars in 2017, mark my words, Ten Eyewitness News will be on fire!” Or something LOL

Mal Walden released his new book today “60 Years of Television”.
Before his retirement, he celebrated more than 50 years of broadcasting, more than 40 years on TV & over 12,000 bulletins.
Even surpassing the likes of counterpart Ian Ross.
However, perhaps you can help here @TelevisionAU, where does the title “60 Years of TV” come from!?

He had an extended interview with Neil Mitchell on 3AW this morning.
You could tell Mal found it a little difficult to talk about the likes of Brian Naylor, Channel 7, Jennifer Hansen & Helen Kapalos.

Mal certainly acknowledged Brian Naylor’s passing and his sacking from Channel 7 but there was not even a hint of a mention of Jennifer Hansen and Helen Kapalos?

Television (or “TV”) has been broadcasting in Australia for 60 years.

Surprised the comments by Sandra at the end didn’t rate a mention in here tonight. Though I can only imagine how frustrating old Bailey is to work with by always running overtime the little jibes aren’t very professional IMO and don’t really come off as friendly banter either
That was nothing compared to the jibes Riminton makes basically on a nightly basis about Bailey. He doesn’t hide his disdain for the man at all.
Sandra’s are far friendly.

I daresay we will just see a bunch of fill-in weekend presenters (Amanda Hart, Kimberley Soekov, Melinda Nuicifora, other states weather presenters like Josh Holt, Kate Freebairn etc) for the short term, depending on how long Amanda decides to stay on maternity leave for / away from work.
