Ten are really good these days at dispatching reporters where they need to be. Much better than the dark ages period. It’s so refreshing.

Agree.

I’m surprised that they didn’t send Eammon Ashton Atkinson to Gallipoli however.

He might be covering Villers-Brettenaux in France.

Eamon is currently enjoying some leave in Australia.

Maybe because it’s a one paper town. Do they print holiday papers in Adelaide and Perth?

Same non-issue being discussed.

Well what do you expect? Tell your friends at 10 to do something interesting for us to discuss instead.

Mediaspy’s brand of interest is the uncontrolled expansion of the network the likes of which we saw in 2011.

As much as you all claim it’s not, it is.

@lexington I think we all value your contribution to this forum, and most us here do want to see the 10 news brand continue to grow. But yes, don’t take it too series.

As I have said previously, everyone here values your contribution. However, when something constructive or at times negative is said about 10, there is no need to rush in defence of them and turn the tables.

While I too hate the repetitiveness of some of the issues raised (e.g. 10 should bring a 6PM news) every network news bulletin in Australia has areas that need to be improved.

Saying that there is no need for a local news on Good Friday or Christmas Day is not “rushing to their defense.”

I’m personally of the belief that all media organisations deserve their fair share of praise and criticism whenever warranted - Network Ten & 10 News First should be no exception to that rule.

As someone who isn’t employed by any of the networks, I like to think that my commentary is reasonably fair overall.

While I often disagree with lexington’s opinions, he’s not the worst member here when it comes to defending everything a particular network does IMO.

Exactly. Anyone who’s read the Seven & Nine threads will know that I’ve criticised certain elements of their Sydney news services too.

But in the 10 News First threads, for obvious reasons the main focus is going to be focusing on that particular news service.

I still disagree with that, especially after seeing the ratings for 19/4/2019!

But until/unless the issue rears its ugly head again on Good Friday next year (national bulletins on Christmas Day are slightly more understandable, but still a decision I’ll highly disagree with for as long as Seven & Nine are running local bulletins in the five main metro markets on that day), this is going to be the last you’ll hear from me on that particular discussion.

Definitely not. However, as a final remark from me on this - there are far bigger issues than 2 national weekday bulletins in the year.

What have Good Friday / Christmas Day national bulletins got to do with this apart from who is presenting them? Personal attacks have been removed, Move on from the topic please.
