In this case they could’ve just kept it as it was, as it was being controlled from Melbourne.

I didn’t actually realise this was occurring.
It would be a better setup if they had 2 presenters in Sydney then weather on-location in Perth as it’s a dedicated bulletin.

They also could of just kept each bulletin local. But one can dream

They should have really done what they did pre 2008 with Tim and Michael still presenting from Perth and just had the news from Sydney, but they obviously didn’t put much thought in to it.

They absolutely put thought into it, salaries for 25-30 year veterans of the network wouldn’t be cheap. They’re saving that money and the ratings haven’t dropped at all in Perth.
