Yes agree. It was an odd time to build an audience from nothing.
The fix is to find a way to do a live show in all markets as a difference. Do what Today & Sunrise can’t.
Ideally what many FOX affiliates do in the US (Like Good Day New York) or local stations like KTLA Los Angeles with local breakfast news could work here, but it’s very expensive to implement and it’s questionable if the advertising dollars are there in 2025.
In Australia, Today and Sunrise are also competing against very established breakfast radio shows as well.
The early news (Ron Wilson/bill woods era) before it had a good run until it was axed with every other bulletin bar 5pm.
I doubt they’ll ever go back into morning news but if they did, it should be accompanied by a streaming news channel from breakfast to late news and repeats across the night and put on CBS/Paramount with their other CBS news channels. Won’t happen though,
From 10:
Technical issue with link to Brisbane - vision switching between studios, no audio just at the start as well.
Small audio issue with Sharyn’s mic muted after Liz crossed back from a weather update, only lasted a few seconds.
After that during the coming up tease before the break, the vision and supers didn’t quite match up with what Sharyn was saying.
They use ZOOM for the live cross to Canberra???
Cheap link I gusss
Adelaide lunchtime update posted to Fb.
Seems like the lighting has been altered a bit in the newsroom?
Likewise, the new Brisbane updates for InDaily Qld have today been posted on the Queensland facebook page for the first time.
It looks like the green screen studio room.
So Adelaide doesn’t really have a studio space. It’s all done from a temporary newsroom setup. Something they need to conceder if presentation is to permanently move back from Sydney.
Shame that the space is so small.
Would be great if they could replicate a similar feel to the 2011 days with the newsroom backdrop.
No need for a greenscreen. This would look just as classy.
They actually have two areas - a newsroom standing position, and the green screen studio - but for some reason, they can’t use both at the same time for stuff like newsroom crosses during the 5pm bulletin
They need a proper working studio with lighting, sound proofing and a set.
Their previous studio (previous location) was constructed out of the office atrium.
and the current location was picked thinking it’d just be an office. Any TV studio set up in there is gonna be a bit below par unfortunately.
