And new carpet to the newsroom

LOl that’s nothing compared to the output Como Centre used to put out. Taking away Ten Melb’s track record of making fun, smart and irreverent mid-morning TV for another show made by Sydney spivvs featuring Sydney spivvs was a huge mistake.

Candice is still not up to it. Her voice is still too forced and unnatural. Sacking Helen Kapalos was the original error.

With most Robotic Studio camera setups, the pedestal positioning/movement within the studio is part of the robotics.
You can go cheap & just have a RC camera head sitting on a fixed tripod.
In Nines news studios, most of their camera pedestals are on tram tracks which limit movement to what those tracks allow.

P&T are pedestal controlled
Z is camera controlled

It would not surprise me if they’ve got Candice in mind to replace Jen when she leaves (whenever that is - hopefully not soon)

Interesting globe backdrop used here, cross to Melbourne during the Queensland bulletin tonight.

I know you’re a fan, but I personally wouldn’t choose Candice again. She’s just not the right fit for presenting solo and never really has been. She lacks authority and I don’t think she’s a strong newsreader She needs to stick to producing now or getting back on the road.

But the panelled floor still looks like shit?

Looks a bit like what SCA use for the local updates.

I reckon the folks at Ten have been reading a bit of MS today, as they’ve gone and fixed the error when they saw this post!

I’m not disagreeing with what you’re saying - I’m just not sure who else could be in contention. Only other person who comes to mind is Jayde but I’ve only seen her present News a couple of times, so not sure what she’s be like long term.

Anyway, it’s all hypotheticals at this point in time as Jen does not appear to have any plans to step down anytime soon (killing the speculation before it starts LOL)

Plenty of people at other networks who’d have a crack, just like Jen did.

Looks similar to a zoomed in version of the live stream

Odd choice. Clearly on a green screen. It’s just the old left-hand screen backdrop before they used the localised imagery.
Why couldn’t they use the Melbourne newsroom or that generic control-room backdrop?

Agree, even a Melbourne backdrop would’ve been okay on this occasion as it was clear they were crossing to Melbourne given the subjects links to the area.

But Queensland have used some strange choices when crossing to their own newsroom too, including a more zoomed in version of the globe backdrop where it could be localised.
