Pretty much never. Unless they promote the odd story or exclusive. There’s actual no “brand” awareness.
Agreed.
Of course, Ten would probably argue that they don’t promote their 5pm bulletin(s) because it’s not in primetime and Family Feud is their 6pm show which deserves the promotional focus more…but that argument is completely flawed when you consider that 6pm news lead-in programs The Chase Australia and Hot Seat are regularly promoted in prime time by their respective networks.
Could we see this happen soon? I don’t think so but hey…
the new logo looks downright sexy.
Will ten be using this logo everywhere. It’s not really being seen on anything other than prg and sports telecast.
Knowing Ten, they probably won’t roll out the current look logo everywhere although they should IMO.
Back in the 1970’s up until 1992, Ten Eyewitness News was Always First at Six while Traditional Rivals Seven and Nine aired their Evening News at 6:30, How Times have Changed with Both Seven and Nine Dominating the 6:00 Hour with their Individual City News Bulletins no Matter which City is the Highest. Ten Could’nt keep it up by Late 1991 and soon they Moved Eyewitness News to 5:00 where it has Remained they’re ever Since.
Hopefully it will be a national bulletin. I’m sure interstate viewers would be none too pleased to see a Sydney bulletin broadcasting nationally, with dominating reports such as sales at the Pyrmont Fish Markets or crowds at the Royal Easter Show which would be completely irrelevant to those outside of NSW.
I remember around 2003-2004, they use to do just that. It was very much like the Sydney local team had no idea they were going out to national audience.
Good Friday is a network bulletin.

Good Friday is a network bulletin.
[/quote] Thanks for the info, Natarsha Belling will probably have the day/weekend off anyway.
Ten Eyewitness News ‘First at Five’ was broadcasted again this weekend 5.30-6.30pm on Ten in QLD.
Correct. That bulletin went live into QLD and SA and 2 hour delay to Perth.
Adelaide receiving a customised local bulletin tonight, presented by Natarsha from Sydney.
Simple reason. To cut costs.
TEN again using former reporter Amber Austin-Wright who is now a freelancer based in London again for coverage of the Belgium terror attacks similarly to the Paris attacks she covered for them last year.
Amber Austin-Wright was at Brussels for Ten on Wednesday. Good to see Ten utilizing her again since the Paris attacks. She seems to be the go to gal whenever something major happens in Europe.
I find it amusing that Prime News can produce local news on Good Friday, alone with the ABC, but Ten cant.
Yep, it’s rather amusing and sad that the likes of Prime7/GWN7 and Seven Queensland can produce local bulletins for different regional markets on Good Friday but Ten can’t produce local bulletins for major metropolitan markets on Good Friday! That probably says something about Ten’s current commitment to news…
In Ten’s defence they have never done local news on Good Friday this century… so nothing to do with the current state of things.
And I would say it’s more a matter of choice. As a network, a decision is made based on the fact it’s a holiday and viewership will be low, to give a majority of staff a day off.
Like was anybody’s day ruined because they got a national weekend news yesterday? Like really?
