TEN should re-instate their London bureau with Amber Austin-Wright to cover Europe, she’s done a great job the last couple of days reporting on the Brussels terror attacks.

Ten News has facebook updates about the hijacked plane- which are being presented by Lachlan Kennedy (I assume in Brisbane) but with a Sydney backdrop.

Didn’t quite hear, but I think I heard in QLD tonight the V/O said, “Across Australia, this is Ten Eyewitness News, First at Five, with Georgina Lewis and Lachlan Kennedy”. Please correct me if I am wrong @killy06 @Lexington 
I missed the opening tonight so didn’t hear it sorry.
EDIT: Just watched the beginning, it started with “This is TEN Eyewitness News…” so nothing has changed.

Opening in Queensland was the same as usual.
I actually think that would be a nice touch for the national weekend bulletin.
Just take out the “First at Five” part in the V/O otherwise its getting too long

Yeah Ron Wilson/Deborah Knight (<2008) > Bill Woods/Sandra Sully (2009) > Bill Woods/Deborah Knight (2010) > various presenters via Sydney since then.
Sandra was only presenting then because Deborah was off for a bit IIRC

Deborah Knight was on maternity leave in 2009, btw Januray & July.
Sandra didn’t return to Late News until then. Kath Robinson filled-in.
Natasha Belling had also been on maternity leave since late 2008, she didn’t return unti around May 2009.

Ten news cross promoting fox sports NRL coverage with a cross to Greg Alexander in the fox sports studio to preview Thursday night football then they plugged the air time.
Is this tacky shit really necessary.

FYI, this isn’t the first time in about a week. On Thursday, Rob Waters cross to Dermott Beretton on Thursday night in the Fox Footy Studio. On Good Friday, Matt Burke crossed to Kevin Walters for the Grand Final rematch in NRL coverage, and like AFL last Thursday and Good Friday they both plugged Fox Sports.
I actually don’t mind it at all, I think if Foxtel wasn’t a Ten major shareholder then this wouldn’t be happening, I think it was expected to happen.
It fills up space in their sports news 
It gives TEN access to some great commentators who are experts on the games. Gives them something that 7&9 take for granted.

Ten News has a new fill-in traffic reporter in Melbourne, Taryn Elder.
She was the Afternoon News (Seven) traffic reporter last year.
She seems to have struggled adjusting to the LIVE reports (where you obviously have to pan/zoom the camera, whilst talking and switching to your face shot).
Her second report just before, had her switch to the camera at the front seat of the chopper… With no one in it (and her in the background) LOL 
Jimmy is on holidays. Andrew Crook (normal fill-in) has still been here for Today/Nine Afternoon News, maybe they needed to give Taryn something to do

During the sports report in Brisbane there was a live look to Veronica Eggleton on the GC to talk about the Titans vs Broncos game tonight which included an interview with Kevy Walters where she promoted an “ad break free & HD” game on Fox Sports tonight - this is first time I’ve seen them do it here in Qld.
Noted also that she use a microphone without a ten logo on it tonight, not sure if this had something to do with it? First time I’ve seen them not use one.
